This week, our school leaders celebrated the start of Hispanic Heritage Month by exploring the art, traditions, and flavors found throughout Hispanic and Latino cultures! Through our Art activities, students learned about Mexican folk art as they created sugar skull-inspired paintings with black paper and white paint and colorful serape-inspired oil pastel artwork. In Café, students connected with the rich food traditions of Hispanic and Latino communities while putting their own fun twist on a classic-inspired treat by making delicious apple pie taquitos! It was a week full of creativity, learning, and appreciation as we celebrated the diverse cultures and traditions that make our community so special!

Our recent curriculum hour was a success! It was wonderful to see our parents so engaged with our information boards, swapping ideas, and diving into great conversations about what’s ahead. A massive thank you to Ms. Keri, Ms. Emily, Ms. Kristen, Ms. Chandra, and Ms. Amie for your dedication and for making this a great curriculum hour.

Our PreK 1 students explored color theory and scientific prediction during their first lab experiment! Using Play-Doh to mix colors, they practiced fine motor skills, observation, and cause-and-effect reasoning as they made predictions and discovered how colors change through hands-on exploration. These little learners are already thinking like true scientists 🔬✨

What an incredible start! Last week was our Back-to-School Bash, and we brought all the creativity, exploration, and energy to After School. From bug collages and mini pizza roll-ups to custom keychains, vision boards, and student art galleries—these kids hit the ground running! Each group also named their crew and designed team posters, plus we soaked up plenty of outdoor fun. Here's to an amazing school year ahead! 🎨🍕✨
