Charlotte Upper Elementary

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to inform you that effective Friday, August 5 I will be stepping down as principal of Charlotte Upper Elementary. Next week I will start my new responsibilities as Bellevue Community Schools’ superintendent. This decision has not come lightly, and I have appreciated the support of Charlotte Public Schools as I have made this transition.

Charlotte Public Schools will be posting the CUE principal position immediately. In the meantime, work to make sure the school year starts smoothly for students has been underway.

Over the last six years, Charlotte has been an amazing place to work and grow as a professional. I have been blessed to work with some of the most amazing educators I have ever known. I have also been lucky to have the opportunity to serve a community as vibrant and involved as Charlotte. Being an Oriole has helped me grow not only as a professional but as a person too. I will never forget my time with all of you.

Congratulations to Bobby Horton and Haley Horton. Both of these Orioles will be representing Michigan in the Jr. Olympics in Greensboro, North Carolina next week. Haley qualified for the long jump. Bobby qualified for the 100 meter, 200 meter, and long jump.

Good luck Orioles. We're proud of you!

CUE families, school starts in just 31 days on Monday, August 22, 2022. Here are some things to look forward to:
- A general supply list can be found on the CUE webpage https://www.charlotteorioles.com/schools--services/elementary-schools/charlotte-upper-elementary/
- There will be an Open House on Wednesday, August 17 from 6:00- 7:00 pm.
- Families should receive their class assignments before August 17, but these can also be given at the August 17 Open House.
- We will celebrate the return to school on Friday, September 16 from 5:00- 6:30 pm with our Back-to-School Bash.

We are looking forward to a great school year.
