Final Shabbat Welcome of the school year 🎆🎇
Always a fun time with family & friends, singing in preparation of Shabbat, giving tzedakah and tasting challah, and the wonderful sense of community it brings. Shabbat Shalom!!

The official week for Teacher Appreciation comes to an end…the PTO put together a fabulous week and we know our teachers felt extra special.
The scene was set with the hallways decorated, each teachers name featured on a giant friendship bracelet! Starting off with coffee & pastries, a candle making workshop and a flower from each child, the luncheon, carwashes (rescheduled due to rain) and ending off with a massage. Thank you to our incredible team who make JPS as special as it is 🤍💜

Shoutout to our PTO team who made this week possible, and to all our parent volunteers who came into classrooms so the teachers could partake in the activities.
Thank you!!! 🙏🏻🍎📚✏️

A highlight of Teacher Appreciation Week is our luncheon. It’s always special to get together during the day, and today we enjoyed a delicious lunch (catered by Shterni), watched an adorable video put together by Andy, and decorated wine glasses 🍷.

Many thanks to our parent volunteers for making this possible, whether it was helping with setup or watching the children in their classrooms. We are so grateful for our special school family 💜🤍

Wishing all our friends and families a Happy & Kosher Passover!! JPS kids are seder-ready; earlier this week we hosted a model seder, where dipped and sipped, tasted and asked, and ended off with a song and dance, asking Hashem to allow us to celebrate in Jerusalem next year.

If you’re enjoying a seder with a jps student, this is their moment to shine! Can’t wait to hear about it!

May all Jews around the world experience true freedom this Passover 🍷

What does it mean to be a slave and do hard labor? What are bricks and mortar? The 3s & 4s classes experienced a little bit of what it might have felt like to do hard labor in Egypt (Mitzrayim). This will bring new meaning to our celebration of our freedom, and especially the part of the Seder when we eat charoset - they really got into it with the mortar!

Mazel Tov to the 2s class on their formal initiation to Jewish education! Did you know that a child’s 3rd birthday is significant in Judaism? Three is the age of understanding, when children are capable of saying blessings, boys begin wearing a kippa + tzitzit, and girls begin lighting Shabbat candles. Today, we celebrated our 2s class who have either already turned 3 or will be 3 soon!

🍯 First, we did tefillah and licked sweet sticky honey from the letters of the aleph bet! The letters of Torah are as sweet to us as honey.

🎈Next, we celebrated!! The children bounced in a bounce house, decorated name plaques with their Jewish names, decorated and ate aleph shaped cookies, and enjoyed aleph bet art and sensory play.

💜 Thanks for joining us to celebrate this milestone!!

Tiles & Takeout was a success! The scene was set with 70s granny-core vibes & chinese style takeout, bringing together the ladies of JPS (moms/sisters/teachers/grandmas) with experienced players in our community for a night of fun, learning the basics of mahjongg, enjoying delicious food and better company.

We wrapped up the evening with a raffle and had many lucky winners. We can’t wait to do it again soon! 🀄️🥡🥢
