Football season is here! And with it comes a lot of excitement, disappointment and heartbreak. You can develop a better understanding of this emotional roller coaster of a sport by joining us at Matthews Library on Monday, 9/28 at 6 p.m for A Girls' Guide to Football!

This fun and informative mini-camp will help to explain what you're watching and, more importantly, why fans are celebrating or cursing at the television. 🎉🤬

And what's football without a little tailgating? We'll have light and easy snacks perfect for a tailgate party, along with cookbooks that can be checked out for your own party-planning!

In honor of Welcoming Month, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library's Frontline Puppeteers will present three multicultural puppet shows based on children's picture books. These 30-minute performances are suitable for children in PreK–Grade 2 and include movement, songs, a chance to meet the puppets and a craft activity!

September is Welcoming Month at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. While the City of Charlotte celebrates Welcoming Week from September 11–20, we extend the celebration throughout the month with WelcomeCLT to bring people and organizations from across our community together to build connections and celebrate what makes our communities welcoming and inclusive.

During the month, take part in our Welcoming Month Challenge. Complete three activities such as attending a WelcomeCLT event or reading a book featuring a character from a different culture to earn a WelcomeCLT magnet or button and a free ticket to a Carolina Ascent Football Club game on Friday, October 16, 2026.
