Last week, our 9th grade Hawks had the opportunity to hear from a panel of Latin alumni: Joe Baynard ’14, Morgan Holt Johnson ’09, Rusty Reigel ’14, and Suzanne Little Robards ’82! Our panelists shared their career journeys, lessons learned along the way, and advice they would give their younger selves. They also reflected on how they’ve grown as leaders since their time at Latin, encouraging students to embrace new opportunities, learn from challenges, and continue discovering their strengths.

A big thank you to this group for taking the time to share their experiences and connect with our 9th graders!

Welcome home to Will Branner ’12, who is back in Charlotte with the national tour of The Great Gatsby, playing the role of Tom Buchanan.

Today, Will and a fellow cast member participated in Blumenthal’s Community Cue, a free event that explores themes and topics inspired by upcoming shows.

And what’s next for Will? London! He will make his West End debut this December in another production.

We love seeing our Hawks doing what they love, especially when it brings them back home.

Bravo, Will!

A Broadway homecoming! 🎭

Congratulations to Will Branner ’12, who will return to Charlotte this October in the First National Tour of The Great Gatsby, playing Tom Buchanan.

Long before Broadway, Will could be found on the Latin stage in productions including Beauty and the Beast and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, where his performance earned him a Best Actor nomination at the inaugural Blumey Awards.

Hawks interested in cheering on one of our own can catch Will on stage October 13–28 at Belk Theater.

Congratulations Suzie Pignetti on her induction into the NCISAA Hall of Fame!

Coach Pignetti led Charlotte Latin Volleyball from 2001–2012, building one of the most successful programs in school history with 11 consecutive conference championships and nine consecutive state titles. Her extraordinary impact on Hawks athletics earned her induction into the Charlotte Latin Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2020.

This summer, Pignetti's incredible service and success were recognized by the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) as one of four inductees into the NCISAA Hall of Fame.

During the Hall of Fame celebration, Coach Pignetti reflected on her coaching career, the evolution of her philosophy, and the many people who shaped her journey. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to her former Charlotte Latin assistant coaches, Amy Zinn and Ellen Kazura, who were in attendance to celebrate alongside friends and family.

Congratulations, Coach Pignetti, on this well-deserved recognition!
