🎉 Skate Night was a HUGE success! 🛼✨

Staff, scholars, and families came together for an amazing evening of skating, dancing, laughter, and community fun during our PTA fundraiser at Frye’s Skating Rink.

The energy was unmatched as everyone rolled around the rink, showed off their dance moves, and created lasting memories together. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our school community and PTA efforts. Your participation, smiles, and support made the night truly special! 💙💛

With only two Second Harvest Food Drives remaining this academic school year, today was truly a beautiful reminder of the power of service and community. Our teachers showed up with servant hearts, the ladies of Delta graciously volunteered their time, and members of Hendrick Lexus of Northlake joined us in making a difference for our families and community.

Watching so many people come together for one purpose, to serve others with love, dignity, and compassion, was inspiring. Days like today remind us that when a community unites, lives are impacted far beyond a single moment. Grateful for every helping hand and every smiling face that made today so special.

Drumroll please! Please join me in extending a big congratulations to Coach Hetherington , PE teacher, and Mr. Kelson, 8th grade ELA teacher, for being selected as our May Educators of the Month! They were honored earlier at Hendricks Lexus.

The Governors’ Village STEM Academy is more than just a great STEM school… we are a community where creativity, talent, and the arts shine just as brightly as academics. That’s why we proudly embrace , because the Arts matter too! 🎭🎶🎨

Our Spring Concert was a beautiful reflection of the passion, confidence, and talent of our scholars. From the music to the smiles, every performance reminded us that education is about inspiring the whole child.

✨ The Teacher’s Lounge at GVSA is officially complete! ✨

My vision is now a reality, because of intentional advocacy, strategic partnerships, and a deep commitment to our educators.

As the administrator leading community engagement and family involvement at Governors’ Village STEM Academy, I was purposeful all year in advocating for a space where our teachers could truly rest, recharge, and feel appreciated. Through that work, our partnership with Elevation Church resulted in a $20,000 investment that allowed this dream to come to life, while also preserving funds to support Teacher Appreciation Week and future celebrations honoring our educators.

🎨 Bringing the vision to life

Muralist Jamil Steele has officially completed the mural, transforming the entrance wall into a vibrant and welcoming expression of creativity and pride.

Mr. and Mrs. Colson completed the Teacher’s Lounge, bringing the interior space together beautifully.

We sat together, and I shared my vision clearly, what I wanted teachers to feel when they entered the space, how the lounge should serve them, and the atmosphere it needed to create. They listened with intention and delivered exactly what our teachers deserve.

This project reflects what is possible when community partnerships are facilitated with purpose and clarity, and when advocacy is centered on people, especially those who pour into our scholars every single day.

More color. More creativity. More community. And this is only the beginning.
