Earlier this month, 49er Foundry students hit the road for Austin, TX to explore another vibrant innovation ecosystem.

They spent time with fellow student founders, visited The University of Texas at Austin’s innovation space and Herb Kelleher Entrepreneurship Center, met with the Austin Chamber of Commerce and learned about the city’s history and small business community.

Experiences like this expand what students can learn beyond the classroom and strengthen the ideas they bring back to Charlotte.

The Second Quarter North Carolina Economic Forecast is now live.

Looking ahead, the independent, nonpartisan analysis that businesses and policymakers have trusted for more than four decades will continue through the North Carolina Economic Impact Center, which will present the next forecast event in fall 2026.
