Jen Fowler

Three years ago I jumped into two graduate programs at once — a Gerontology certificate from UNCC and my master’s from Winthrop. 700+ clinical hours seeing clients. Countless miles between Charlotte, Fort Mill, and Rock Hill. And somewhere in all of it, I didn’t just survive — I thrived.

I loved almost every minute. The learning. The growing. The becoming.

Endless gratitude to my family for backing this wild ride, to my friends for never wavering, to my classmates (who supported my team mom energy), to the professors of CSDV at Winthrop, and the mentors, colleagues, and clients of who shaped me along the way.

And the cherry on top? Celebrating these two at prom. ❤️

I’ve been around the block with this girl. We met in yoga teacher training and supported each other through teaching and life. We’ve had great memories and epic adventures. In 2022, I was ready to return after a few years away from teaching in studios. Courtney gave me a space to teach, invited me into the community at Charlotte Yoga, and has trusted me ever since.
She was one of the first few I told about returning to school, and she held my dream as close to her heart as mine. She was a wholehearted yes in support, and her unwavering support and cheerleading made a difference for me.

She’s a big dreamer, loves her community of teachers and students, has an eye for beauty, and she’s as courageous as they come. I’m so proud of her and the community she’s building at Charlotte Yoga. At the heart of it, yoga is about union and connection; it’s about feeling at home and making home happen in your body and your life. She’s created that sense of HOME in the studio at Parktowne and now at Carmel.

I invite you to visit us at our new studio at Carmel. It’s a beautiful studio with infrared heat and a mix of heated and unheated classes with dynamic and wonderful teachers. It’s a place you’ll feel like home. We’d love to have you and if you see my friend Courtney, tell her congrats! I love you friend, I’m so proud of you. Congrats on this adventure.

10th / 8th - We’re in an even year!

Here’s to the teachers, bus drivers, custodians, volunteers, administrators, and staff that make learning possible for all the kids.

As a child of teachers, I know the energy, time, and effort it takes to make a school run. I’m grateful and incredibly appreciative of the profession you’ve chosen. Thank you.

May we embrace our failures, learn from them, and have fun!

The best advice still is the advice from preschool teachers - make good choices.

Here’s to you Wil Fowler! When you were born we must have asked the nurses and doctors all the questions. We peppered them, thinking we’d figure it out if we asked all the questions.

The kind nurse working with us and you looked at Doug and me and said “Mom and Dad - you’re gonna be fine, it’s the people that don’t ask the questions I’m worried about. Just love him and you’ll be ok.”

We love you Wil. Thank you for brining so much JOY, humor, creativity, empathy, intelligence, and FIRE to our house. You are one of a kind. We love you, here’s to a magical year.
