The Bird Feeder Food Pantry available for students of Charlotte High School.

With the holidays coming up, we have been approached with how to donate to the bird feeder. Here is a reminder of how to donate:

-All food donations can be brought to the high school main office to be brought to the pantry.
-All monetary donations need to go to the district central office c/o Michelle Sine. Please specify that the donation is for the bird feeder.

We are currently looking for the following items for holiday boxes:
-Mashed potatoes
-Gravy
-Stuffing
-Cranberry sauce
-Cream of mushroom soup
-Crispy fried onions
-Stick butter
-Desserts (brownie mix, cake mix, etc)

Of course, we are willing to accept anything that you are able to give. Please reach out to Mr. Hejnal or Mr. Schmitt with any questions. Go orioles!

Something big was teased last post. Here is the news:

We recently received a VERY generous monetary donation! As a team, we decided that the first thing to do with this donation is to put together 18 Thanksgiving meal boxes with all the fixings for 18 families that may not be able to put together a full holiday dinner. Today, we went to Charlotte Meijer and picked up the turkeys. The participating families should expect boxes to be ready in time for Thanksgiving!

We hope that this endeavor is a stepping stone for more high-quality boxes like these in the future. Thanks again to everyone involved with this process!

We are transitioning the bird feeder student sign in to electronic format. Students can now scan this QR code by the entrance instead of signing in on paper. This will help us have a better idea of what to restock when needed. Thanks again to Greater Lansing Food Bank for helping us keep our shelves, refrigerator, and freezer full!

We are also working on something big behind the scenes. The timeline is still TBD, but we will keep you posted!

Good Afternoon

With school starting on Tuesday, we wanted to remind you that the bird feeder will be open for business! Students will be able to access the pantry throughout the school day so they can take what they need. As a reminder, they need to sign in when they enter. We have plenty of bags to take food home in if needed. Our pantry is not just a snack stop during the day.

Last year, we formed a more direct partnership with the Greater Lansing Food Bank and would like to thank them for their support!

We would also like to apologize for the lack of updates last school year and will try to post more often this year once again.

If you need anything, would like to make a donation, or have any questions, feel free to reach out. Go Orioles!

We are handing out more Oriole Packs tomorrow (March 24)!

That's right! Packs will be available at Parkview, Washington, the CUE, and CMS.

We will also have a pickup at CHS from 12-2.

Please feel free to come to a school and grab 1-2 packs per family to help during spring break.

We have had a couple more donations to report:

-A local girl scout troop put together "birthday kits" to make sure a family has everything they need to celebrate someone's birthday - including materials to bake a cake! If a family needs one, feel free to message us! Thank you girl scouts!

-We also got a generous donation from Campbell's soup in partnership with the Detroit Lions to help out our Oriole Pack food drive. Be on the lookout from a special message from the lions! Thank you to all of those involved!

One more thing: remember that the Oriole Pack food drive is coming up on Thursday, 12/16 starting around 4:30PM at the athletic complex. See you there!
