https://pamsreading.com/dyslexia-tutoring-that-works/ If reading has become a daily struggle in your house—slow, exhausting, full of guessing, or ending in tears—you’re not alone.
I’m Pam, an Orton‑Gillingham (Structured Literacy) reading tutor serving families since 2005, and I’m also the parent of a child with dyslexia. I understand the worry, the frustration, and the big question: “What actually works?”
In this short video, I share how 1:1 dyslexia tutoring can help kids build the skills and confidence they need to move forward—whether you’re in the Charlotte, NC area or looking for online tutoring from home.
What we offer at Pam’s Reading:

Orton‑Gillingham / Structured Literacy approach
Support for dyslexia (and related challenges like ADHD/ADD, struggling readers)
A warm, encouraging environment (yes—therapy dogs, too)

For millions struggling with reading, spelling, and writing, the experience of illiteracy or sub-literacy can be both frustrating and torturous. Those with low-level literacy constantly face high literacy expectations in school, at work, and in daily life. 📚😞
David Chalk is a highly successful entrepreneur who has launched over 15 companies and established one of Canada's longest-running technology shows. However, he knows first hand what it feels like to be immersed in a literate world but unable to read. As a dyslexic learner, he spent the majority of his life experiencing emotional turmoil and camoflauging his reading struggles.
At the age of 62, David learned to read through EBLI instruction and courageously shared his story in the documentary, The Truth About Reading. EBLI opened a door he once thought was permanently closed, helping him gain the skills and confidence needed to achieve literacy success. 💪🌟
David's story is a testament to resilience, hope, and the transformative power of EBLI! Hear uplifting feedback from others in the dyslexia community who have also found success on their literacy journeys.
