Great things are happening at Palisades High School. EVERY day. NO exceptions.

Last night the wonderful Mrs. Vergara attended the Blumenthal Educators night representing PHS at the Blumenthal Performing Arts center in uptown, Charlotte.
After an info session, a dinner, and some PD, she got to go see the national tour of “The Great Gatsby” which was paid for by Blumenthal in their partnership with North Carolina educators. In addition, she was able to support PHS Blumenthal Emerging Leaders recipient Domenica L (an amazing PHS student) , who was ushering her very first national tour at the theater! Domenica was able to experience firsthand what goes into preparing for a national tour. Domenica was also able to watch professional pit Orchestra performers. As Dominica is both an orchestra student and one of our musical performers, this was such a great experience for her!

We are so grateful for the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and everything they do to support the arts in our schools.

And great things happening outside of Palisades HS.

What about Jonathan meeting some of his heroes?

The Atlantic Coast Conference Tipoff in Charlotte was nothing short of magical, and we’re still smiling thinking about the memories made!

And Jonathan continues to make magical memories here at PHS!!

More AMAZING things going on At Palisades High School on this Tuesday.
What happens if the supply chain breaks and the cookie stock plummets?

Simple. Go straight to Mr. Kornegay's students and find a solution.

That solution involves designing and testing boats that could carry more cargo but are lightweight (thus costing less to transport).

Well done everyone and don't worry, the cookie supply chain is open and running smoothly again.

Another week starting and yes, another week of AMAZING things going on here at Palisades High School. There are so many amazing things that it is very hard to keep up. But, we will try our best and start with Mr. Wearing's Sports Event and Marketing class.

Why do we buy things? Why are certain advertisements on at certain times? Who are the advertisers aiming their campaigns at?

Well, in Mr. Wearing's class, the student's have those answers. Advertisements are aimed at all of us. From sneakers to cologne. From the latest phone to the latest (insert product name here).

Great work to all of the students in this class.

What's happening at Palisades High School today? GREAT things!!!!! Here is another example of the outstanding work going on here. Not to mention the rigor involved by our students.

AP Lang students just completed their first timed rhetorical analysis essay. These are very challenging pieces of writing that focus on the writing choices an author has made, how those choices impact their audience, and how those choices influence the overall message, meaning, and purpose of the text. Students have really embraced a growth mindset concerning this task and their persistence is paying off.

Shout out to Lola L, Ella M, and Lily W, whose recent rhetorical analysis essays knocked it out of the PARK!

WOW!!

We are thrilled to share that Dominica L has been selected for the prestigious Blumenthal Arts Emerging Leaders program!
This is a tremendous honor and a highly competitive opportunity. After a rigorous interview process with kids from across the region, this selective program accepts only a dedicated cohort of 55 high school juniors and seniors. These students must demonstrate a profound passion for the Arts and show exceptional leadership potential. Dominica's selection is a direct reflection of her dedication to the performing arts, both in talent and natural leadership—qualities she regularly displays both on stage in productions like West Side Story, and as a leader and talented performer in the strings section of the PHS Orchestra. This is the first time a Palisades High School student has been selected for this amazing program, and we couldn't be prouder!
Through this program, Dominica will gain an exclusive "peek behind the curtain" of the theater industry, engaging in monthly professional seminars that explore arts management, entrepreneurship, and community connection. In addition to training as a volunteer ambassador at Blumenthal's world-class venues, she will collaborate on student-led committees to drive local arts initiatives and be eligible to apply for some amazing scholarships.
Being chosen for the Emerging Leaders 2026-2027 cohort recognizes Dominica's bright future as an Arts leader, not only in our school, but throughout the Steele Creek community, and all of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Congratulations, Dominica, on this well-deserved award...we are so proud of you!
