During September, our school-wide focus for Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) was Empathy. Empathy is the ability to share someone else's feelings or experiences by imagining what it would be like to be in that person's situation.

Students learned about empathy each Friday in Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) lessons with their homeroom teacher. Students were nominated by staff for showing exemplary Empathy in their actions for the month of September. Here are the students that were recognized with an announcement on Friday, October 6th:

We have one staff member who received the most nominations from staff for showing exemplary Empathy for the month of September, please congratulate Ms. Laura Barksdale!

We also have one more monthly staff award for September. This award is for the staff member who received the most nominations for showing the highest standards of the CMS C.R.O.W.N. Experience. The CMS C.R.O.W.N. Experience stands for: C-Customer-Focused; R-Responsive and Respectful; O-Optimistic; W-Welcoming; N-Needs-Based Service. The winner for the month of September is Ms. Dianne McCluney!!
