As a new school year begins, Bishop Martin offers a word of encouragement to parents: our children are always watching, listening, and learning from us.

The way we speak, the way we treat others, the way we respond when things don’t go our way — these everyday moments can become some of the most powerful lessons we give our children.

As parents, we are called to be witnesses: to show our children what it looks like to live with faith, patience, kindness, and love.

May this school year be a beautiful opportunity for all of us to grow together — in our homes, in our schools, and in our faith.

Happy Back to School to all our wonderful school communities! 🎉📚

We welcome back returning families and familiar faces, and also want to extend a warm welcome to new faces! We are excited to have new leadership across many of our schools including Principal Tonya Eaton at St. Matthew Catholic School! ❤️

Whether you have been in our schools for many years, or beginning a new chapter with us today, we hope you feel a warm welcome! May the Lord bless our entire school community as we commit our work to Him this year!📚💪

A Back to School Prayer:

Dear Lord,
As our students begin a new school year,
I pray that you will keep them in your care.
Send your Spirit to open their minds
to all that is true and beautiful and good
Help them to see the gifts and talents
you have given them and to use them well.
Help them to grow in knowledge and wisdom.
Help them to be kind to others
and lead others to be kind to them.

Give their teachers patience and understanding
and help them teach what is just and true.
Send your angels to guide and guard our
children and to keep them from all harm.

Open their young hearts to your presence
and enfold them in your peace and protection.
Hold them in the palm of your hand
and bring them home safely at day’s end.

Sometimes the most powerful lessons don’t happen inside the classroom.🙏

Recently — students of St. Ann Catholic School - Charlotte, NC , families, and the parish community of St. Ann Catholic Church came together to love one of our own. 🍋💛 Through a simple lemonade stand, handmade bracelets crafted by our students, and the generosity of countless hearts, our school and parish raised more than $9,000 for a family in our community who recently lost a parent to cancer.

Watching classmates rally around their friend with smiles, compassion, and joyful generosity was a beautiful reminder of what a Catholic education is truly about. We don’t just teach our children to know the Gospel—we invite them to live it.

When one member of our community suffers, we carry that burden together. When someone is in need, we respond with love. This is what it means to be the Body of Christ.

To every student, parent, volunteer, parishioner, and donor who made this day possible: thank you for showing our children that faith is something we put into action.

Our future cougars had a BLAST at Cheer Camp with Coach Shana and Charlotte Catholic Cheer! 📣🤸‍♀️

What a sweet way for our elementary age girls to have fun and grow in confidence alongside current cougar cheerleaders. Camp was filled with new cheers, but more importantly - new friendships.❤️

⚾️🏆 Congratulations to Coach Eddie Hull on an extraordinary Baseball season!

After leading the Charlotte Catholic HS Baseball to a conference championship and earning Coach of the Year, Coach Hull continues to make an impact. This summer, he’s back on the field leading baseball camps that focus on much more than developing athletic talent…

On every Charlotte Catholic baseball hat is a cross—a reminder that these young men are playing for something bigger than themselves. It’s a message Coach Hull reinforces throughout the season: pursue excellence, compete with integrity, and never lose sight of what matters most. Through his leadership, players are growing not only as athletes, but as young men of character, faith, and virtue.

Thank you, Coach Hull, for the countless hours you invest in your players and for the example you set both on and off the field. Congratulations on a remarkable season and a well-deserved Coach of the Year honor!

The future is bright at ! ✨

Today, our principal took time to recognize the unique gifts, talents, and character of each student — from our littlest preschoolers to our rising 5th graders. From future leaders and artists to compassionate friends and curious minds, it was a beautiful reminder that every child has been created with purpose.

Watching these students encouraged and spoken over with such hope for the future was something truly special. The next generation is already making an impact 💚

Last week many of our graduating seniors from came back to their elementary schools to walk the halls one last time, and today they graduated!

We are beaming with pride for these students, many whom have attended our schools since they were very young.

We pray for their success and many blessings, and that they always remember they are welcome back here, as treasured alumni and part of the Catholic school family!🎉🎓

What a year of GROWTH! 🌻🌱

Students at pictured here, partake in their garden tradition - each grade planting something different , and then at the end of the year they share the bounty of what they grew! Here they are planting seeds for what they will enjoy next year.☀️

A reminder that growth in our students, and in our children takes time too, and that after a year of care and patience and growth, what blossoms at the end of the year is something new and beautiful! Taking time away from the busyness of work can teach our children not just about the Earth- but about themselves!
