Here’s what the past 5 weeks have looked like:
✔️ Eating about 300-400 calories MoRE
✔️ Increased protein by about 40 grams
✔️ Enjoying all types of foods - nothing is off limits!
✔️ Lifting 4 days per week
✔️ 6-week training split (aka doing the same exercises each week for 6 weeks)
✔️ Implementing progressive overload by updating weight & rep targets every 2 weeks
✔️Prioritizing sleep quality
As a result, we see clear muscle definition, stable scale weight, improved energy, sleep regulation, & everything above becoming true HABITS.

“I have a slow metabolism.”
“I just don’t have good genes.”
“My metabolism has slowed down since I’ve gotten older.”
“I just can’t eat as much as I used to.”
These are phrases I’ve heard time and time again.
While genetic influence, hormones, and other health factors do play a role in metabolism, I commonly see 3 reasons that new clients report a “slow metabolism.” Even when there are other factors worth addressing, we can often still make substantial progress when focusing on these 3 root causes:
1. Nutrition — chronic dieting or under-eating
2. Body Composition — low amount of muscle mass
3. Overall Movement — minimal movement throughout the day or outside of training sessions
Check out this week’s blog post at www.itsthemvmnt.com/blog/do-you-actually-have-a-slow-metabolism (link in bio) to hear my starting process when addressing a client’s metabolism 🏃♂️
