What an AMAZING way to kick off the 2026–2027 school year at Bruns! 🐻💙🤍 Our students were welcomed back with so much love, energy, and excitement from some incredible community partners and special guests!

A huge THANK YOU to Christian Workers Chapter #301, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, 100 Black Men, Atrium Health, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Johnson C. Smith University Marching Band, local pastors, the Elks organization, and all of the students, families, and community members who came out to welcome our Bears on their first day! 🎉📚

We are so grateful for a community that shows up for our students and helps us start the year strong. Here’s to an amazing year of Building Brilliance at Bruns! 🐻✨💙

Our Bruns Avenue staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms, planning meaningful learning experiences, and getting everything ready to make the 2026–2027 school year an amazing one for our students and families!

We are so excited to kick things off and welcome all of our Bruns Bears back to school on Tuesday, August 25th! 🎒📚

Every school day matters, and showing up on time, every day helps students stay confident, connected, and ready for success. ✅ Set alarms and stick to consistent bedtimes ✅ Lay out clothes and backpacks the night before ✅ Plan transportation ahead of time ✅ Arrive early enough for breakfast and a calm start ✅ Schedule appointments after school whenever possible Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority—let’s make every day count for our students! 💙✨
