postpartum takes a village - which can be extra hard to find nowadays.
if you’re expecting and wondering what those first nights might look like, or if you’re already in them and feeling the weight of it, you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
a postpartum doula steps in so you’re not carrying it all alone. while you focus on feeding and resting, someone is there to gently care for your baby between wake-ups, reset the space, and tend to the small needs that are easy to overlook in the middle of the night. just as importantly, she’s there for you!! a doula acts as a calm presence who understands what’s normal and what might need a little extra support.
reach out to learn more about how overnight support can look for your family. ✨

taylor is the owner of mama bear newborn care, and we couldn’t be more lucky! she started MBNC after her own postpartum experiences, and realizing just how much support a family truly needs. since the village is hard to find nowadays, she decided to make the village.
an experienced nurse, taylor has extensive experience with medically fragile babies and micropreemies, as well as twins, full-term babies, reflux and GERD, and just about everything else you can think of!
when taylor isn’t caring for babies, you might find her playing with her three kids or reading a book.

what’s the difference between a birth and postpartum doula?! you might have heard both terms, and you’re not exactly sure what seperates them.
while both roles focus on supporting families as they welcome a new baby, they serve different parts of the journey.
a birth doula supports you during labor and birth, providing continuous emotional support, comfort measures, and guidance as you move through the process of bringing your baby into the world.
a postpartum doula steps in after baby arrives, helping families adjust in those early weeks with newborn care guidance, recovery support, and practical help around the home.
although they work in different stages and environments, they have the same goal: making sure families feel supported, informed, and cared for during one of life’s biggest transitions!

guess what science just confirmed? your pumped milk is even more resilient than the old rules suggested 🧪✨ the stricter time limits, like 4 hours on the counter were always said mainly out of caution, without much research behind them. BUT, recent research has found that when milk is stored cleanly at cooler room temperatures, bacterial growth stays minimal even up to 24 hours and mainly involves non‑pathogenic bacteria that aren’t harmful to healthy babies. these protective effects are due to the natural antibacterial factors in human milk that slow bacterial multiplication while preserving nutrients. the risk jumps only when milk is left in warmer conditions, so keep it cool and covered. how amazing is that?
that means your pumping schedule just got a little more flexible:
pumped milk can safely hang at room temperature for ~8 hours (and likely up to 24 in cool conditions), live in the fridge for 4 days, or stay in the freezer for 6–12 months. and if baby sips and you put the bottle back, it can chill in the fridge for up to 24 hours or stay at room temp for up to 8 hours. this is big news to everyone who has spent hours and hours pumping milk only for the timer to go off, and can provide some reassurance about re-offering bottles baby didn’t finish. 💛🍼
