Workplace violence in obstetrics is more common than many healthcare organizations
realize.
Securitas Healthcare’s 2026 Workplace Violence in Obstetrics report found that 81% of
obstetrics nursing professionals experience violence multiple times each year in patient rooms, hallways, during transport, and even in staff break areas.
Despite these risks, fewer than 22% of facilities provide portable panic buttons, leaving many nurses without immediate access to help when they’re away from a nursing station.
