Welcome to kindergarten: Cookie, Timmy, & Exclamation! As part of our life cycle & farm unit, we incubated chicken embryos, who hatched over Memorial Weekend!

This year’s chicks have the most unique markings!

End of year is no joke - tests, rainy days, late sunsets keeping little bodies up way past their limit, and field trip energy that doesn’t exactly turn off. We needed a reset.
So we paused. We made a chart. We talked about what a classroom, and a student, looks like, sounds like, and feels like - brave, comfortable, loved, a little silly, and full of giggles. (All list items were Kindergarten Generated!)
Two perfect books carried us right back to where we needed to be: This Is a School by John Schu and All Are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold. Honestly. They are perfect for Back To School, but they hit different at the end of May.
Even in the final days of kindergarten, we can still come back to what makes this our favorite place. 🩷
