Support The Harvard-Kent Parents Association: Annual Fall Fundraiser Oct 3rd-16th

The Harvard-Kent Parents Association, a 501(c3), all-volunteer organization supports the Harvard Kent community by hosting flagship events such as Family Meetups, Back to School Bash, School Concerts, Equity Roundtables, Wellness Week, Teacher Appreciation events, and so much more. This year, our goal is to raise $50,000 to provide direct support for additional classroom resources including Chromebooks and take home books to support Equitable Literacy.

The mission of Harvard-Kent Elementary School is “to be a well-respected, academically excellent, warm, and nurturing urban school that cultivates a diverse community of children to become lifelong learners and leaders.” Each year, Harvard-Kent students continue to meet or exceed all academic targets set by the state. In 2019 the Harvard-Kent was awarded EdVestors’ School on the Move prize, which is given annually to a Boston Public School that is “getting it right and significantly improving outcomes for all students.”

Harvard-Kent is proud to be one of Boston’s most racially diverse public schools and continues to serve the largest population of students in BPS who live in public housing with many of our families facing economic challenges.

Harvard-Kent recognizes the value and potential of every student. You can signal your support during our one and only fundraiser of the year by purchasing raffle tickets, becoming a sponsor, or making a general donation of any size. Visit: go.rallyup.com/hkpride2022 to learn more! Every dollar we raise goes to supporting the school and we are always so grateful for the generosity of our amazing community.

Share your input on the proposed redesign of the Ryan Playground. Note that this plan has been designed in consideration of the proposed plans for a seawall and Master Plan for the developments of the property at 425 Medford St.

"We held our second Design Meeting for Ryan Playground on December 16, where we received some good feedback at the meeting and afterwards in our follow up survey. Since then we've been developing our final plan in response to this input, and reviewing with National Grid, Eversource, and Boston Water and Sewer, all of whom have facilities that run through our playground.

We have generated a design for the playground that we'd like to share with you, and hear your feedback.

Special Needs Logistics LLC offers car service transportation through ride-share companies such as Uber for approved special needs students who have transportation on their IEP but it is not being properly implemented. We fund and coordinate car service for these students so their parents do not have to lay out money while waiting to be reimbursed by the district Any child must be accompanied in the car service by someone over 18.

Given the current bus shortage, I wanted to reach out to see if there are any students you're working with that may require our services. Feel free to share this information with your colleagues and with the school districts that you work with. Thanks very much.

Contact them directly if you would like to know more about this service:
