The students in K-1 had an exciting day today! This morning, the students formed a circle, and the baby chicks were placed in the middle. The students were able to pet the chicks for the first time today! In addition, the students observed the chicks and noticed that the chicks had grown feathers in place of down feathers on the tips of their wings over the weekend.

The students also made guesses about the gender of the chicks based upon the growth of the chicks' tail feathers. The students believe we have two female chicks and two male chicks. K-1 is looking forward to watching the chicks grow even more this week

As fourth-grade continues their unit on plants and animals structures they have moved into how the senses and brain work together every day.
