We are all missing everyone at School!
Good morning and happy Wednesday! I just wanted to take a quick minute and shout out Ms. Kemp in 2-1. She has really gone above and beyond to make sure her students have the best opportunity to complete the school work for the last few weeks at home. She's quick to respond to any problems we have and answers questions thoroughly and in a way that both myself and my daughter can understand, explaining every detail to a T! While the work hasn't always been easy to teach to my daughter by myself, (learning styles are a little different than they were "back in my day") she has helped me and given me so many resources to keep my sanity and help me be the best temporary home school mom I can be! This period of time has been difficult for everybody-kids, parents and teachers and she has just been a rockstar through it all! If I personally have learned anything during our time away from Springfield and the classroom, it's that teachers are true superheroes and deserve the world and there is definitely a reason I am not one myself because Lord knows I wouldn't make it! We have been so blessed and lucky to have Ms. Kemp as a teacher this year for 2nd grade!
Our principal
Mrs. Williams is amazing. A big thank you to her.
Kinsley loves to mash up PE and Epic. Morning yoga and iPad time!
Branks enjoying class with Ms. Wray and his fellow classmates! This interaction meant so much to Branks, his Mom, Addie Sharpe and myself, his grandmother!
Ms. Wray is one in a million! We think that you are great! Please keep up the good work!
Music class !! Karaoke style!!
Spelling words on the sidewalk!!
Kyleigh Weatherford from Ms King's class exploring Tide Pools with her little brother. She found a lot of sea life. Does anyone know what this is? We don't!

So proud of Ms. Whitesides! Such an outstanding educator. Springfield is lucky to have her on our team.

Congratulations to this week's, "Unsung Educator of the Week", Erika Whitesides, Kindergarten teacher Springfield Elementary School

"Ms. Whitesides is new to our district this year. She has come into a new school, learned the new curriculum, and has run with it! Her positive energy radiates through the school. Watching her teach, you can see the passion that she has for ensuring all students succeed. She provides the right amount of rigor that her expectations stay high, while also meeting students where they are.

Her children always seem happy as her classroom is such a welcoming place to be. She and her assistant are a dream team! We are so appreciative of Ms. Whitesides' hard work as she ensures her students are prepared for 1st grade!!"

The district has set up 10 regional afterschool clinics by the Constituent District that will administer the two-shot Pfizer vaccine to students, with signed permission and approval from their parent or legal guardian, over the course of the next few months.
