In preparation for the First Day of School on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, Charleston County School District is profiling many of the district’s offices, resources, and programs leading up to the opening bell.

We look forward to seeing all our new and returning Mustang students Monday, August 21st during Meet the Teacher. We will have Swig & Swine and Kona Ice Charleston here from 3:30pm-6:30pm. The cafeteria will be open for families to eat before or after visiting the classroom.

At 4:00pm the Multi Purpose Room will be open for families to receive their classroom assignments, pick up opening packets, and visit all the available stations.

This event is for our Kindergarten - 5th Grade students and our PIC students.
Students that have been accepted into our Child Development program will have separate events!

Springfield staff had an awesome first day back! We started the day with a Rock,Paper, Scissors tournament and Mrs. Behringer was our winner! Staff then chose a positivity band from La Clé and got in groups to write why their chosen message spoke to them. We met as a staff to review and reflect on school data. Finally, we enjoyed a lunch provided by Home Team BBQ of Charleston, SC. We can’t wait to have our students back in the building. It’s going to be a great year!

Last Friday, third graders had career day. Members from the community and parents came in to showcase their careers. Students got to travel freely and find out more about jobs they may like to have one day! Thank you everyone for coming! ☺️

Our kindergarten classes each had a Fruit & Chocolate Party this week. Their final unit in EL was on trees. They learned that trees provide fruit and nuts for people and animals. They sampled all kinds of fruits that grow on trees with chocolate fondue. It was a fun way to celebrate the end of the school year too! 🌳🍎🍊🍌🍒🍐
