Who loves sweet potatoes on Thanksgiving? 🙋‍♀️Traditional sweet potato casseroles can be loaded with sugar and marshmallow topping. Let's be real, it's more dessert than side dish. This year, consider preparing mashed sweet potatoes instead of a casserole with all the added sugars. Simple bake the sweet potatoes in the oven or you can wrap them in foil and put them in the Crock-Pot for several hours and they come out nice and soft. Top with a few pecans or walnuts for garnish. This way you're keeping your sweet potatoes a healthy carb instead of a sweet dessert.

Motivation won’t last forever. Here’s how to stay on track and make good choices a lifestyle, not a phase: ⠀

Simplify: Something as fundamental as nutrition shouldn’t be complicated. ⠀

When thinking about making a big change in your life it's natural to want to apply strict, all or nothing rules. You are all in, and nothing is going to get in your way this time.

In reality, placing restrictions on your diet can create the opposite of your intended outcome. Cutting out foods or food groups creates guilt and negative feelings that can lead to bingeing and disordered eating habits.

Statistics show that people who track and log their food are 50% MORE likely to lose weight than people who do not keep a food journal. Tracking your food may seem tedious in theory, but food logs are where it’s at, people! We challenge you to pull up My Fitness Pal NOW and log everything you’ve eaten today. DO IT! And then do it again tomorrow too! Create the healthy habit, become more mindful of what you’re putting into your body.
