Learn a language | Experience a culture

The English Language Institute (ELI) offers programs for non-native speakers who wish to pursue English language study for academic, professional or personal development. Students from beginner to advanced level enjoy small class sizes, highly-qualified instructors and customized programs.

Located in the #1 City in the U.S. as designated by Travel+Leisure magazine, students learn more than just English language. With its coastal charm, renowned culinary scene, rich history and many museums, Charleston, SC offers non-native speaking students the opportunity to learn English and gain a greater understanding of the United State’s culture and history.

Students will practice their English both in the classroom and in the community. Instructors often assign projects like interviewing local shop owners and religious leaders (Charleston is the Holy City after all).
