This study could have important implications for work-from-home policies. Thank you for your time and participation!

Teacher Appreciation Week is upon us and this week we celebrate the teachers who illuminate the world to our kids! Take time this week to acknowledge your appreciation for all they do. Help your child create a handwritten note or card, bring your teachers a flower or a hand made gift or take time to stop by and offer your teachers an encouraging word. Your teachers will appreciate your and your child's efforts and will know that you care!
Share your photos of your child's creations and we'll be sure everyone sees. The PTA will be posting photos of the ways we've pampered teachers all week.

Congratulations to Liz Ramirez, outdoor classroom teacher at Malcolm C Hursey Elementary School, for receiving a $500 National Agriculture in the Classroom grant.

Hursey Elementary is one of only 16 schools throughout the U.S. to receive a grant and, the only school in South Carolina.

Hursey’s garden is a school-wide project in which younger students plant seeds and cultivate plants in the school garden, older students work with a local farmer, Joseph Fields, at his family farm and in the school garden and, all students distribute produce they grow through a school market, ‘Healthy Basket.’

If you aren't already familiar with it, this a wonderful program for public school teachers to make requests for relatively small grants for specific projects or materials. Take a minute to check out this request made by Allison Gross, MCS primary teacher.
