Also, the nursing division welcomes Jody Smith as a new full-time faculty member. Jody will start Monday, 2/26. Jody introduces herself:
I am originally from Williamsport, PA. I worked as a RN in a trauma ICU for one year. I joined the USAF to travel and meet interesting people, which is how I met my husband 19 years ago. As a military spouse, I have tried to bloom where I was planted. As a result, my experience in nursing and teaching has become quite diverse. I graduated from Mansfield University with a BSN. I obtained a MSN/Family Nurse Practitioner degree with a minor in Nursing Education from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. I completed a Doctor in Nursing Practice degree from Grand Canyon University in 2016. I have a son, Dylan (14) and daughter, Hannah (9). In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, jogging, yoga and going to the movies. I love teaching nursing. I believe teaching nursing is the best way to enhance the healthcare system, improve our communities, and facilitate others in achieving their dreams.
Please join the TTC nursing division in welcoming new full-time faculty member, Amy Brinson. Amy started February 13th. Here is Amy in her own words:
My name is Amy Brinson. I graduated with a Health Care Management Degree from Lander University. I realized my heart keep going back to Nursing, so I decided to go back and obtained my ADN from Trident Tech in 2003. After that, I finished my BSN in 2013 and my MSN in 2017. I have worked bedside for 14 years. The units I've worked have been: Med-Surg, Oncology, Telemetry, and ICU. The thing I enjoy most about Nursing is the connection with the patient. I realized my passion for teaching started after doing an adjunct role for Trident Tech. I love sharing my knowledge and experience with students in a relaxed, non-intimidating atmosphere. I recently worked the last ten years on a surgical step-down unit at St. Francis Hospital. I'm so proud of the personal and professional relationships I have established over the years with physicians, leaders, patients and co-workers. I have been married for 11 years and we have two beautiful children, a 9 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. They are our best accomplishment to date. In my spare time, I enjoy catching up with old friends, volunteering at my kids' schools and hanging with my family. I love the beach and taking our new 10 week old Golden Retriever on long walks.
