May is Maternal Mental Health Month and weβve got some amazing community events happening all month.
MAY 7TH
First up is our 19th annual Momsβ Run & Family Fun Day featuring our inaugural Kids Dash event. Our annual event is hosted this year by Philip Simmons High School with our Family Fun Day Sponsor, Project Alive & Kicking and our Kids Dash sponsor, Dr. Randy Pagenkopf. Registration will remain open until 8am on race day, so you still have time to join us for this fun event!

Mugs for Moms Fundraiser and Auction
mugs_for_moms hosts its 3rd annual event to help raise awareness for maternal mental health.
MAY 21ST
Beyond Delivery
Our monthly meal and care package delivery will be on May 21st. We are proud to offer this program in partnership with Summerville Medical Center and East Cooper Medical Center. New moms can sign up for this free program on our website at ppdsupport.org/beyond-delivery. The 4th Trimester: Postpartum Virtual Presentation
This free, virtual event is being hosted by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Lambda Nu Zeta Chapter, Lambda Nu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., in partnership with MUSC Women's Reproductive Behavioral Health Program to increase education on this important topic.

Rome Physical Therapy hosts this event at Charleston Birth Place in partnership with , Foundation Family Chiropractic and Sweetgrass Counseling for our Beyond Delivery program. The Beyond Delivery Program delivers a homemade lasagna and an infant care package to new moms.
Donβt forget we also have our weekly support group offerings. Be sure to check those out at our website and you can also find a link to the calendar in our bio. Weβve added a special pop up event next week with Fit4Mom Charleston on May 10th and weβll be at the coffee meetup with on May 20th.
So many wonderful ways for moms to be in community this month. We are here for you, mamas! You are not alone.

Philip Simmons High has another Carlisle Cup to add to its trophy case! The Carlisle Cup is presented each year by the SCAAA to the most outstanding athletic program in each classification. PSH has now won two years in a row for Class AA. Way to go, Iron Horses! π

Philip Simmons High AFJROTC students are literally taking flight through the Lowcountry Inspirational Flight Training (or LIFT) Camps, held monthly out of the Summerville Airport. Each student receives ground, simulator and flight instruction from an FAA-certified flight instructor in a modern training aircraft. Students leave the camp with a logbook endorsement for their first training flight. They also have the opportunity to meet volunteers from Boeing South Carolina, Tuskegee Airmen Inc., and Women in Aviation International.

Class of 2022 parents and students: There is additional information circulated on senior pictures. The $29.99 sitting fee for senior picture summer sessions listed below is for formal portraits and two casual settings as well. This fee of $29.99 is for 24 edited and color corrected proofs. The fall picture makeup day will have two formal senior pictures taken for the yearbook at no fee. When you see the options being discussed please note that the comparison being made is not apples to apples. If you have any questions please contact the front office.

There will be three sets taken for each senior: formal indoor portraits, casual indoor portraits and then a casual outdoor portrait. The sitting fee is $29 and includes all three portrait settings and digital proofs of the pictures. The fee is paid online to Strawbridge when the time reservation is made. π· πΈ

This weekend 134 graduates will cross the stage at the North Charleston Coliseum; graduation starts at 9 a.m. on June 12.
Graduates scored an estimated total of $4,227,210 in academic scholarships.
