St. Philip's Academy is dedicated to educating children through classical Christian education.

We begin as we intend to go.

In kindergarten, our students are introduced to great works of art through Memoria Press art cards, training their eyes to recognize beauty, order, and excellence from their earliest days. They learn that the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty is not reserved for the few but is the inheritance of every child.

Years later, as seniors, our students complete a Herculean Labor by identifying 200 works of art—a testimony to years spent cultivating attentiveness, wonder, and wisdom.

Classical Christian education is not merely preparation for a career; it is formation of the soul. We begin with beauty because God Himself is beautiful, and we desire that our students learn to delight in His goodness as it is reflected in the greatest achievements of human culture.

The seeds planted in kindergarten, by God's grace, bear fruit in the years to come.

One of the things we love most about the Memoria Press curriculum is its transparency.

Whether you open a kindergarten curriculum manual or a fifth-grade curriculum manual, you can clearly see the path of a student’s education and exactly what is being taught at every stage. There are no mysteries, hidden agendas, or guesswork. You will see a thoughtful, intentional course of study designed to cultivate wisdom and virtue over time.

Parents could walk into our classrooms on any given day and recognize the pieces of their child’s education. They can see the books being read, the facts being memorized, the skills being practiced, and the ideas being discussed. Each lesson builds upon the last, creating a coherent and connected educational journey from the earliest years through graduation.

Classical Christian education is not something that happens behind closed doors. It is a partnership between school and home, and we are grateful for a curriculum that allows parents to understand, support, and participate in their child’s formation.

We invite you to come crack open our curriculum manuals for yourself and see what is being offered to your child and family.

The boxes are arriving.

This week, stacks of books from Memoria Press crossed our threshold.

Over the coming months, empty rooms will be transformed into classrooms fitted for the work of formation.

By God’s grace, what is now a collection of boxes will soon become a place of learning where minds are cultivated, hearts are formed, and students are equipped to love what is true and live faithfully in service to Christ.

We look forward with gratitude and anticipation as St. Philip’s Academy takes shape, one book, one classroom, and one scholar at a time.

A feast with the Friends of the Academy, an Ebenezer moment, marking a joyful occasion to gather in fellowship and give thanks for the Lord’s abundant provision.

As we shared a meal together, we paused to remember and celebrate all that God has done to bring this Academy to life. Like the stone of remembrance raised by Samuel, this moment served as a testimony to the Lord’s faithfulness. From the earliest prayers and plans to the families, students, and supporters who will fill its halls, His hand has guided every step.

With grateful hearts, we look to the future, trusting that the same God who has helped us thus far will continue to bless and sustain this work for generations to come.

"Then Samuel took a stone and set it up... and called its name Ebenezer; for he said, 'Till now the Lord has helped us.'" — 1 Samuel 7:12

Our Headmaster is spending the next few days driving around, welcoming our founding families to St. Philip’s Academy.

Inside each welcome bag is a bit of school spirit, information for the year ahead, and most especially, a handwritten note (in cursive) to each family from our Headmaster himself. These beginning moments are meaningful ones, and there is a particular sweetness in building something new together from the very start.

We are deeply grateful for the families who are laying the foundation of a distinctly classical and Christian education at St. Philip’s Academy.

It is not too late to inquire about becoming a founding family of St. Philip’s Academy. We will be accepting families as space remains!

What adorns the walls of a school matters.

In a classical Christian education beauty is not treated as an afterthought, but as an essential part of forming hearts and minds of children. The hallways our students walk each day should be filled with what is noble, lovely, and worthy of contemplation.

Through beautiful works of art, students are quietly shaped by order, harmony, craftsmanship, and truth. These images become part of the atmosphere of their learning, training their affections and reminding them that beauty itself points beyond us to the goodness of God.

"A room without books is a body without a soul." -Cicero

At St. Philip's Academy, books are found in every room. You'll find them stacked on classroom shelves, gathered on tables throughout the school, and placed in the hands of curious learners.

We want our school to be a place where the love of learning is cultivated daily and where families, students, and visitors alike are invited to wonder, inquire, and grow in wisdom. Many of the books (like this one) around our campus are available for anyone to pick up and take home, especially those desiring to learn more about classical Christian education.

The teacher-centered classroom is a restful place for a child.

There is comfort in being led wisely-formed through structure, order, routine, and loving instruction. In a culture that often asks children to direct themselves before they are ready, many students are quietly longing for something steadier: guidance, clarity, and the confidence that comes from a well ordered classroom.

At St. Philip's Academy, we believe children flourish when nurtured in the way of wisdom by teachers who faithfully lead with both authority and care.

It is with great joy we welcome Katharine DeAntonio to the faculty of St. Philip's Academy as our Drawing Instructor.

Classically trained in draftsmanship at the Florence Academy of Art, she brings both experience and devotion to cultivating in students skillful hands and discerning eyes. With a deep love for the Western artistic tradition, she seeks to form not only capable artists, but attentive observers of truth, goodness, and beauty.

We are grateful to welcome Miss DeAntonio to our community and look forward to the gifts she brings to our students.
