Charleston Southern University was honored to welcome South Carolina Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs Todd B. McCaffrey to campus as he took time to learn more about CSU's deep commitment to serving those who have served our nation.

Secretary McCaffrey joined President B. Keith Faulkner, Darrin Goss Sr. of the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina, representatives from Senator Tim Scott's office, and other community partners for meaningful conversations about strengthening support for veterans across South Carolina and the vital role higher education plays in that mission.

The conversation doesn't end here. We continue to propel forward in planning for the P. Cecil Patrick Jr. Family Veterans Center, a tangible expression of CSU's unwavering dedication to our veterans and military families.

It was a privilege to showcase to SC Aerospace and its partners how Charleston Southern University is preparing the next generation of aviation and aerospace leaders. Through strong partnerships and hands-on learning opportunities, our students are ready to take flight. Charleston Southern is on the RISE. We look forward to continuing to strengthen South Carolina's aerospace workforce together! ✈️

On July 4, 1776, the final draft of the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress, proclaiming the Thirteen Colonies were free and independent states.

250 years later, we celebrate the enduring spirit of the USA and embrace the responsibility to learn, lead, and serve, while reflecting Christ in all we do.

Jan Reed, executive assistant to the dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, was named E.P.I.C. Employee of the Year for Extra Mile Service. Reed also received her 15 year service pin at the annual employee appreciation luncheon.

Reed was nominated for consistently going above and beyond in her work. She is described as kind, patient, joyfully committed, always stepping in to help students and faculty and was honored for her compassion, initiative, and willingness to serve.

Charleston Southern University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Shelley Greene as senior vice president for university advancement!

With extensive experience in fundraising, enrollment management, strategic communications, and organizational leadership, Greene will provide leadership for the university's philanthropic and fundraising initiatives while overseeing marketing & communication, creating greater alignment between advancement, brand strategy, and the goals of CSU Rise.
