🚨 HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT A JWVG CLASS REALLY LOOKS LIKE? 🚨

It’s more than sitting in a classroom.
It’s more than a textbook.
And it’s definitely more than preparing for a test.

✨ It’s about opening doors to possibilities students may have never considered.

Today, our JWVG students had the opportunity to welcome Rail Explorers as a guest speaker! ✨

Our specialist brought the real world directly into the classroom, giving students the chance to learn about an exciting career and business, hear firsthand about what it takes to be successful, ask questions, and explore opportunities they may not have known existed.

💼 THIS is what JWVG is about.

➡️ Career exploration
➡️ Employer engagement
➡️ Learning directly from professionals
➡️ Discovering new career pathways
➡️ Building confidence and connections
➡️ Preparing students for life after graduation

Every guest speaker, every field trip, every conversation with an employer and every new experience can be the moment a student discovers, “Hey…maybe this could be my future.”

That’s why our JWVG specialists work hard to bring meaningful experiences into the classroom — because career readiness starts long before graduation. ❤️💙

A huge thank-you to Rail Explorers for taking the time to invest in our students and share your experience!

This is JWVG. This is learning beyond the classroom. This is preparing West Virginia students for what comes next.

🦷✨ Employer Engagement is OFFICIALLY underway at Clay County High School! ✨🦷

Clay County High School kicked off their first employer engagement of the school year by welcoming Mrs. Beth Hubbard, Dental Hygienist, to speak with our JWVG students!

Mrs. Hubbard gave students an inside look at what it’s really like to work in the dental field—from the day-to-day responsibilities and skills needed to the education and preparation required to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. 🦷💙

We LOVE seeing our students connect classroom learning to real-world careers! Experiences like these help students explore their interests, ask questions, and discover possibilities they may not have considered before.

A huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Hubbard for taking the time to invest in the future of Clay County’s students! 👏

We’re excited to see where this year’s employer engagement opportunities take our JWVG students! 🚀

Blasting through barriers. Building bright futures. 💙❤️🤍

Specialist Barry Payton had the incredible opportunity to host Job Corps in his classroom as a guest speaker, and the impact was truly inspiring!

Providing our students with real-world exposure to career pathways is so important. Experiences like this allow high school students to explore opportunities they may not have considered, ask meaningful questions, and begin to envision their future beyond graduation.

Job exploration at this stage is more than just learning about careers—it’s about building confidence, discovering passions, and helping students understand the steps needed to achieve their goals. When students can connect classroom learning to real-life opportunities, it empowers them to make informed decisions and sets them on a path toward long-term success.

We are proud to create spaces where our students can grow, explore, and prepare for bright futures ahead!
