Griffin Cyphers, M.D., a Family Medicine resident, & Colin Woolard, M.D., a Radiology resident, have been named Residents of the Month! Their nominators shared the following:
“Dr. Cyphers deserves a Resident of the Month recognition for demonstrating exceptional clinical judgment and the impact of the ultrasound program he created. When formal studies were unavailable overnight, he used POCUS to identify a DVT, prompting urgent intervention that led to the discovery of bleeding esophageal varices and timely anticoagulation. As founder of MUSC Family Medicine’s ultrasound curriculum, he also teaches these skills to others. His initiative, innovation, and commitment to patient care exemplify the purpose of this award.”
“Dr. Woolard is an outstanding resident whose positivity and teamwork consistently elevate the radiology reading room. In a fast-paced environment, he fosters collaboration, reduces stress, and boosts morale among residents and staff. He also goes above and beyond in patient care, recently stepping in during an overbooked biopsy schedule and staying late to support an anxious patient. His compassion, clinical excellence and commitment to teamwork make our department a better place every day.”
