Smart dressing changes color if wounds are infected
It's ironic that in order to check if a wound is becoming infected, doctors may end up setting back the healing process by prematurely removing the dressing. An experimental new dressing is designed to help, as it changes color if an infection is occurring.

Congratulations to Evans Banks and Evan Stravolo for each winning a prestigious Sigma Xi Award for their research presentations on The Citadel's Student Excellence Day! Both Evans have been working with Dr. Megan Moyer on metal organic frameworks (MOFs) since their k**b year and their time and effort has definitely paid off!
Sigma Xi is the scientific research honor society and was formed in 1886 (making it one of the oldest honor societies). The Charleston Chapter of Sigma Xi has received the Chapter of Excellence Award in 2009 and 2013.
