Happy Birthday Kelvin King!!

Some Holidays come from calendars.
Some come from history books.
And then… there are the ones born right in the middle of the neighborhood — out of laughter, good food, kids running around, and one man whose heart has quietly been showing up for people for years.
At the PINK HOUSE Neighborhood Resource Center, we are officially preparing for the Annual Festival Holiday of Celebrating Saint Kelvin King Day. 🎉
Now yes… technically his birthday lands on St. Patrick’s Day 🍀
But we decided something very important:
Why compete with leprechauns when you can celebrate a living legend?
So we moved the party so the kids, families, mentors, and the whole communitycould gather together and properly give this man his flowers while he can still blush about it.
Because Kelvin King has been the kind of man who:
shows up when no one is watching
cooks when people are hungry
laughs when life gets heavy
and loves this community like it’s his extended family
The children around here know him as the man who always has time.
The mentors know him as the quiet backbone.
And the neighborhood knows him as proof that kindness can walk around in work boots and still crack a good joke.
So this year… we are making it official.
🎺 Saint Kelvin King Day at the PINK HOUSE
A day of laughter.
A day of gratitude.
A day where the community pauses and says:
“Thank you for the years you poured into us.”
There will be smiles.
There will be food.
There will probably be some roasting of Kelvin too — because love in this neighborhood always comes with a little humor.
But most of all… there will be joy.
Because when someone spends years planting goodness in a community…
the harvest looks like kids laughing, neighbors gathering, and a celebration big enough to embarrass him just a little.
Happy early Saint Kelvin King Day.
The neighborhood loves you. ❤️🍀🏡
