The Citadel Admissions

On Fridays The Admissions Office wants to highlight our amazing admission officers and cadet ambassadors. These are the people working hard to make sure you have the best first impression of The Citadel. From calls and emails to giving presentations and tours, these are the people who make it all happen.

Zachary Markiewicz, Cadet Ambassador
November Company • Class of 2020

Major: Exercise Science with a pre-med focus

Hometown: Aiken, SC

Why did you choose The Citadel?
“I chose The Citadel for the challenge and discipline. I knew that if I went anywhere else then I would not be challenged and I wouldn’t get my full potential unlocked.”

What is one lesson you have learned from your time at The Citadel?
“To constantly motivate yourself to be better in everything you do.”

We are excited to be attending Wando’s Junior Night on Wednesday! Come meet 1st Lt Curran and get information about all things Citadel.

We love seeing outstanding JROTC units come visit The Citadel. Recently we have hosted Richland Northeast, Northwestern, and South Aiken High School. If you want to schedule a visit for your JROTC program, go to the Visit section of The Citadel’s website to come see us!

Brandi Duzz, C'19, joined Stantec Engineering, Charleston office, as a Transportation Engineer. Her work focuses on concept development, roadway design, utility coordination, construction permitting, and hydrologic/hydraulic design. In addition to her engineering career, she also serves as a U.S. Marine Corps Reservist.

She credits her capstone project, design of Palmetto Commerce Interchange in N. Charleston, with having a huge impact on her career path. The project included traffic analysis, roadway, bridge, geotechnical, and drainage design. Her team’s recommendations were presented to an expert panel of practicing engineers. Brandi says, “without this project I wouldn't be where I am today. In my interview with Stantec, I described my curriculum design experiences and this knowledge played a significant role in obtaining my job offer and providing a great foundation for my career. “
