What advice would you give to someone considering The Citadel?

Find what you want for yourself. If you want to take the road less traveled, this is the place to do it. It creates an enormous amount of discipline as well as lifelong friendships. Always remember, "The world is run by tired men" - Winston Churchill.

What is one thing you wish people knew about The Citadel?

I want people to know that The Citadel sets you up for many different types of success. No matter what your short-term or long-term goal is, there will be someone on this campus to help you reach your goal. Personally, I have used the student success center to help me reach an academic goal like getting an A on a paper. I have also used The Citadel Career Center to get help with professional goals like finding a summer internship.

The Citadel Physics Department is hosting an Applied Physics Experience for any high school sophomore, junior, or senior who likes problem solving, science, math, and hands-on projects.

Any student can participate regardless of STEM background because Citadel professors will be walking students via Zoom through a project mailed to their house.

The event is Saturday, November 14 from 1 – 5 pm and cost $20 for all materials. Space is limited.

Please read for important information regarding Matriculation. "We are shifting our schedule by one week in order to offer our entire semester of classes on campus while still ending classes before Thanksgiving."

Happy 4th of July! Make sure to stay safe and socially distanced over the long weekend.
The Office of Admissions will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of the holiday. We will resume regular business hours on Monday, July 6th.

Lesesne Gate - (le • SĀNE) - is the main gate on to campus. It is also the name for the portal, Lesesne Gateway, where you will access all your Citadel information. Lesesne Gateway is where you can currently check the status of your financial aid and where your bill will be located when those are posted on July 7th. Your log in information was mailed and emailed to you so please make sure that you can access your account. If you can't access your account, please give us a call or email.

Registration is now open for The Citadel's Virtual Fourth-class Orientation: "Forward, March!"

Incoming fourth-class cadets who participate in this four-week program will have the opportunity to take their first steps down the "Road Less Traveled." The virtual orientation experience is provided free of charge and will enable incoming cadet-recruits to build camaraderie with their classmates, get a head start on personal training and physical fitness, and begin to develop an understanding of the four pillars of The Citadel experience--academics, character, military and fitness.

Update on cadet shoes:

Due to COVID-19 the Bates shoes are not available in all sizes, we are recommending the purchase of Thorogood by Weinbrenner black oxford shoes. The attached link has the specific black oxford shoes listed for The Citadel.

Incoming freshmen are asked to read the play "A Few Good Men" before matriculation. As you read, consider and take note of the ethical issues presented in the play. More information can be found at

‼️ Flags are finally in ‼️ If you heard that we were sending out flags to deposit paid students but never received one, blame COVID 19. Yesterday we mailed 400 flags to deposit paid students. Post a picture of your flag and use hashtag #Citadel2024 so we can see all our future cadets!

Attention Accepted Students:
In order to be ready for Matriculation Day, you will need to have proper boots and uniform shoes. The Cadet Store is closed until further notice, but they are taking appointments for shoe and boot fittings, please call 843-953-4809 or 843-953-5330 between the hours of 9AM-3PM Monday-Friday to set up an appointment. Coming to campus to be fitted is not mandatory but helpful for many students who have never worn military style boots.

The model of Bates shoe listed is for men. The women's shoe model number is E00769.

Attention accepted students:
The deadline for deposits and medical forms is 1 June. The Office of Admissions will be taking deposits over the phone on Wednesday (5/27), Friday (5/29), and Monday (6/1) from 8:30 am - 11:00 am. Call (843) 953-5230 OPTION 1 to place your enrollment deposit.

Bulldog Tours has a great walking tour of The Citadel showcasing the prominent campus landmarks and history from inception in 1842 to present day. Prospective students and history buffs alike will enjoy The Soul of The Citadel Tour.

Historian Andrew Kuhn showcases the highlights of our new "Soul of The Citadel" walking tour. The tour covers the history of the school, their core values, their contribution to our country, and all the way to present day life at The Military College of South Carolina.
