As most of you know, WVSSPA has been an affiliate member of the UMWA for several years. Starting this year, we are working with UMWA to form a new local for professional employees. This group will be called West Virginia United for Education (WVUE) and will be separate from our Service personnel locals. We feel that all school employees working together to keep our schools open and funded will be more effective. Professionals can go to wvue.wvsspa.org to join and service personnel www.wvsspa.org.

Recognizing School Transportation Personnel 🍎

Bus mechanics and technicians recently competed in a bus inspector competition that put their skills and attention to detail to the test. Three buses were staged with multiple defects that had to be located and addressed. The three winners below were chosen based on their field performance and written examination results. ✏️

- First place 🥇: Donovan Saporito, Monongalia County Schools
- Second place 🥈: Nick Branham, Mingo County Board of Education
- Third place 🥉: James Hundly, Mingo County

This competition was created to ensure the safety of our students through well-trained mechanics and technicians who are attentive to bus safety. 🚌
