This year's Cold Moon has a unique twist.

The Third Annual Vet Tech Alumni Reunion was a success with 49 alumni attending. The reunion, sponsored by Nutramax Laboratories, offered one and a half hours of continuing education for the licensed veterinary technicians who attended.They also enjoyed a dinner at SOL Southwest Kitchen in Mount Pleasant and custom made wine glasses to take home. Rebecca Toole, a 2012 graduate who lost her battle with ovarian cancer in August, was also honored during the reunion.

Volvo Donates Cars to Automotive Technology Program

The Early Childhood Development Club is assisting a single mother and her four-year-old son this year with holiday gifts. Donations are accepted until Dec. 17.

Veterans/Active Duty Student Updates:
The Vet Center will close for holiday break Dec. 19 and reopen Jan. 6, 2020.

Military veterans and active duty service women and men who are graduating in 2020 can receive a free graduation military cord to add to your graduation regalia. Please stop by the Veterans Assistance office or call 843-574-6105 to reserve your cord.

S.C. Aeronautical Training Center Opening

Industry partners, donors and elected officials attended the South Carolina Aeronautical Training Center opening Nov. 8. The facility on Thornley Campus in North Charleston supports the state's growing advanced manufacturing cluster.

Trident Tech staff and faculty recently completed an eight-week Win with Wellness Challenge. Congrats to the Just One More team, made up of Recruiting employees Jasmine Salley, Jean Brooks, Rene Gutierrez and John Martinez, who earned the top spot.

Alum Dawn Simmons served as the mistress of ceremony. Papa Robbie from The Dubplates performed and DJ Sinclair Ray spun the tunes. Society of Dental Assisting students are making care packages for the homeless. Donations of hygiene products, such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine products and deodorant, will be accepted through Dec. 10. Donation boxes are located in the Dental Clinic (Bldg. 630) and Bldg. 410.

The Phi Theta Kappa TTC Food Pantry is open today 1:30-3:30 p.m. and Tuesday by appointment. Food is available to all students, faculty and staff in need of assistance. No purchase is required; just show your Trident Tech ID. The TTC Food Pantry is in Bldg 100/Rm. 177 on Thornley Campus.

Trident Technical College received the Technology Pioneer Award from EAB at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., Nov. 6. Trident Tech is recognized for being on the leading edge of technology that advances our student success efforts on campus. Brian Almquist and Michelle Caya accepted the award on behalf of the college, which comes with a $1,500 scholarship donation from EAB.

Trident Technical College, the first two-year college in South Carolina to be designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, is celebrating National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week. Cybersecurity specialists use their skills and training to prevent cyber attacks on information systems and business networks as well as individual network computers. Trident Technical College officially opened its new $80 million South Carolina Aeronautical Training Center Friday afternoon with a ribbon cutting and tour of the 218,000-square-foot facility (including ramp) located on the college’s Thornley Campus in North Charleston.

The S.C. Aeronautical Training Center includes an aircraft ramp, two hangars with high bays to accommodate a variety of aircraft and large aircraft training aids, 22 classrooms, 25 specialty labs, six flex-space labs, 37 offices, meeting spaces, a café and catering kitchen.
