The unprecedented need to develop a workforce that can build and service electric and autonomous vehicles and develop the cybersecurity to protect them is the driving force behind a new consortium based in South Carolina.
The consortium, named “Collaborative Research: REVVED,” short for Revolutionizing Electric Vehicle Education, is receiving $2.83 million from the National Science Foundation to fund the project.
Trident Technical College is working in partnership with Greenville Technical College, Spartanburg Community College and Clemson University as part of the consortium. Several workforce development centers and industry partners are also involved.
The Class of 2022 Radiologic Technology students are ready to put their skills to work!
Students from Trident Tech, Clemson University, Brigham Young University, Purdue University and Tuskegee University participated in an unmanned aerial vehicle fly-off event at the Charleston Executive Airport on Johns Island April 12. The event gave the students the opportunity to test the airworthiness of the UAVs they designed and manufactured as part of a two-semester capstone project. Qatar Aeronautical Academy in Doha and the University of Patras in Patras, Greece, participated in the project virtually in an observatory manner and also attended the fly-off event.
Film, Media and Visual Arts faculty, staff and students documented the project from the initial meeting to the fly-off event.

Kudos to the Student Nurses Association for winning multiple awards at the SNA SC convention. Awards received include Outstanding Population and Global Health Participation; Most Letters Written to Legislators for SNA-SC; and Outstanding Resolution Participation. Erin Bellow received the SNA-SC Scholarship. Jacob Miller was named Ethics and Governance Director for SC SNA.
