Representatives from HealthLinks Charleston magazine recently visited Thornley Campus to present Trident Tech’s Emergency Medical Technology faculty with a 2021 Best in Health award.

More than 10,000 patients, local medical professionals and HealthLinks readers voted for this year’s Best in Health honorees in a variety of categories. Trident Tech won the award for having the best EMT program.

Dorchester County held a ribbon cutting ceremony today for the new Dorchester Campus, Trident Technical College’s fifth campus. This full-service campus features 27,210 square feet of classroom, lab, office and flex-use space as well as a large student lounge/study area. General education, information technology, science and HVAC classes will be offered at the campus at 10055 Dorchester Road in Summerville. Dorchester Campus opens to the public June 1. Registration for Fall Semester classes at the campus also opens June 1.

This award is given to a graduate who demonstrates integrity, servant leadership and potential to provide future leadership to their profession and the community. Melinda, who graduated from the Nursing program in December 2020, works at Roper St Francis Mt Pleasant Hospital in the COVID Unit.

Congratulations, Shawnda Sallee for winning the State Credit Union scholarship!

Each year, we award a $1,500 scholarship to a Trident Technical College student who has gone over and above in their academic career. This year, that student is Ms. Shawnda Sallee – from their nursing program. Shawnda was nominated for this scholarship as she embodies hard work and has exceptional grades. Shawnda has also led the charge in collecting coats, books and toiletries for less fortunate individuals at the North Charleston High School. We are pleased to have presented this $1,500 scholarship to Ms. Shawnda Sallee and we thank Trident Technical College for this wonderful opportunity. Good luck in your future endeavors Ms. Shawnda!
