Santa made a special stop at Pattison’s Academy last week to share gifts from the Angel Tree with our students. On holidays like today, we are reminded how special all our families are and the villages surrounding them. We are so thankful for Santa, our families, and the community’s support in unlocking potential in our kiddos through all our programs! Happy Holidays!
We may be on Winter Break, but our holiday lessons were too good to keep to ourselves! From building gingerbread houses to reforesting the North Pole with Rice Krispie treat trees—our classrooms ensure that education mixes seamlessly with speech, occupational, and physical therapies.
At Pattison's Academy we work everyday to discover abilities and share joy through our four programs. In our Charter School, Early Intervention, Summer Camp, and Therapy Services—our mission is the same: Unlocking Potential in individuals with disabilities and empowering their families!
We can't believe it has been almost a week since our first time in the Holiday Parade for the City of Charleston! We are so thankful for all of the families who came out to walk and roll alongside our Holiday-ified Pattison's Academy Bus and the organizer's for including us. Here's to seeing much more representation of Pattison's in the community!
At Pattison's Academy, we take a holistic approach to each of our students and their families. Thanks to providers like our Board Member, Dr. Scott Benjamin, we are able to host clinics onsite to cutdown the number of outside visits families make with their children. With more clinics, and telehealth on site—we are able to keep parents and caregivers at work and their children up to date on all of their needs.
Our parents and caregivers are our most valued stakeholders. Without their input, we wouldn’t be able to move forward and continue evolving to better serve our students, campers, early intervention children, and therapy patients. Thanks to their feedback and the generosity of donors like you, we’re able to unlock the potential of individuals with disabilities and empower their families—today and in the future.

Children don’t come with instruction manuals, and for families of children with developmental delays and disabilities, the learning curve can be especially steep. That’s where our Early Intervention team steps in—partnering with families to navigate the complex maze of services and support them in achieving their goals.
As a team of highly qualified developmental specialists, we believe that every child has the ability to learn and grow, no matter the challenges they face.
Today, you can play a vital role in unlocking potential for children like Maggie and Sawyer, ensuring they receive the support they need to address developmental delays and thrive.

Who We Are
Pattison’s Academy was launched in September 2005 by four women — a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, an educator, and the mother of a child with disabilities — with a mission to improve the quality of life for children with severe disabilities across our Charleston community. The premise was simple, yet powerful: Through an array of services including education, therapy, and early intervention, families and professionals would work together to maximize the potential of children with a range of physical and cognitive challenges. The promise of this organization, particularly its ability to effectively serve children with multiple, complex disabilities, was enormous.
From the humble beginnings of a summer camp that started in 2006, serving 14 children, Pattison’s has grown into a multi-faceted service organization that serves over 125 children each year with quality programming delivered throughout Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. Thanks to our partnership with the Charleston County School District, we today operate the only K-12 public charter school in South Carolina that serves exclusively children with severe disabilities.
