Offering both an interdisciplinary major and minor, the program focuses on the study of African American experiences. African American Studies aims to provide students

Congrats to Otis and Maleah on this amazing opportunity!

We are proud to introduce the 2026 cohort for the IAAM Sankofa Fellowship! πŸŽ“

This year’s fellows are embarking on a 15-day immersive journey in Charleston, S.C. from June 7 to June 21, focused on African American history, community service, and cultural preservation. From exploring Gullah Geechee foodways with AMOR Healing Kitchen to gaining behind-the-scenes experience with our museum teams, these students are set to make a lasting impact. This program is generously funded by Pisgah Investments Foundation, Inc.

Join us in celebrating these emerging leaders as they engage with history, develop professional skills, and contribute to our "Soul(Food) of Freedom" year.

The Charleston Area Justice Ministry (CAJM) is having their annual Nehemiah Action Annual Meeting, Monday, April 27 at 6:30 pm. Past meetings have brought together members of the faith-based community and organizations to discuss issues determined by the people for the people. As a member organization, E3 is inviting you to be our guest for this powerful night.

This year, members of CAJM have determined 3 areas to discuss and hear updates from our local elected officials:

School Board Governance for the Charleston County School Board;
Protection for Gadsden Creek; and Food Security for ALL.

We are going to ask our local leaders to step in where they have been silent and we need a full house to make that ask land. With an expected attendance close to 1,500 people, the E3 team invites you to be our personal guest.

Can we count on you to make your presence known? If yes, please RSVP here to CAJM and also connect with our CAJM team leader, LaTisha Vaughn via email to confirm your attendance - [email protected]

Feel free to share this information with your network and invite others to join you.

Yours in grateful service,

The E3 Team
