Day 3 of HOPE 💚🏠

We are officially on day 3 of HOPE, and our students have been doing an absolutely incredible job serving our neighbors in Mingo and Wayne Counties, West Virginia. Over the last three days, they have worked tirelessly to make a real difference — repairing roofs, building decks, laying foundations, and helping make homes safer, warmer, and drier for families in need.

It has been amazing watching these students step up with servant hearts, strong work ethics, and a willingness to give back to others. Their dedication is already creating a lasting impact in the lives of so many families.

Please continue to keep our students in your prayers as they continue this mission of service. 🙏💚💚

🏠 Day 1 of HOPE is officially underway! 🔨
Our Charleston Catholic High School students are off to an incredible start as they begin another summer of service through HOPE (Housing Outreach Program Express) — a long-standing mission dedicated to helping families in need by repairing and improving homes throughout rural West Virginia in partnership with Cabwaylingo Appalachian Mission.
Today, our students rolled up their sleeves and got right to work installing new windows, repairing decks, tackling home improvements, and making a real difference for families in need. ❤️
We are proud to watch our students live out what it means to serve others through faith, compassion, and hard work. Stay tuned as we continue this week of changing lives — one project at a time.

The Class of 2026 is headed to incredible places! We loved celebrating our seniors and all they’ve accomplished in their future college colors.
A special shoutout to Ellie who missed the photo while speaking at the Girl Scouts Empowering Girls Luncheon. She’s headed to West Virginia University as a Bucklew Scholar!
We also missed having Xander and Alec in our photo. Alec will enroll at Marshall and Xander will enroll at the University of Kentucky!
We can’t wait to see what this class does next! 💚🤍

Congratulations to Golden Horsehoe winner Liam! Liam is an 8th grader who will be named a Knight of the Golden Horseshoe at a ceremony in June. The Golden Horseshoe is a prestigious WV academic award given to top students from each county in the state.

Congratulations to Mateo (Aquinas Medal), Mary (St. Sebastian), and Kieran (St. Sebastian) for their recognition as the Charleston Catholic Aquinas and St. Sebastian Medal recipients. They were honored at a reception last night with Bishop Brennan, Superintendent of Schools Jennifer Hornyak, and students from other Catholic schools in the southern region of the State. The Aquinas medal recognizes one student in each Catholic school who embodies the school's mission and the philosophy of Catholic education through excellence in learning, faithful discipleship, leadership, and service. The St. Sebastian medal recognizes one male and one female student athlete in each Catholic high school who has demonstrated sportsmanship, teamwork, academics and a high degree of respect for school, classmates, teammates, opponents, parish, and the community at large. Congratulations to all recipients!

Earlier this week we welcomed West Virginia University President Michael Benson and some of his staff. President Benson spoke with high school students about the importance of hard work and the value of what you achieve when you work hard for it. What an important lesson! We appreciate President Benson taking the time to visit with us.
