"Wrestling is an individual sport and the athlete experiences both failure and success as an individual. As a result, the wrestler endures more physical, emotional, and psychological stress, both positive and negative, than an athlete in another sport."

Wrestling Mindset

For those who don't think sleep is important. Notice the big spike in GH (growth hormone) at the 7 hour marker. Cannot be as strong as possible (without artifical means) if you are not getting enough sleep. Put down the phone and remote and use your natural cycle of GH to your advantage!

Wrestling Mindset

You never stumble upon greatness. If you want to be a National Champion you need to wrestle like a national champ every day you go in to practice. You need to live like a national champ every day. The drilling, the live wrestling, the strength training, the mental training, and on an on. Pretend every live Wrestling match is the national finals. Every day and each bout requires your full effort. Be intense, train like a madman and believe that you will be the one walking out of the nationals with hardware and a bracket.

[04/18/15]   ATTENTION************

Dues to spring sports schedules we are pushing the start of Club to (tentatively) Tuesday May 5th. I will comfirm this next week. Stay posted!!

Wrestling Mindset

Learn to use the 5 minute rule when you lose a match or have a setback. Allow yourself up to 5 minutes to feel sorry for yourself, pout or whatever you have to do (within the rules and law). After that you NEED to extract the lesson and move on confidently. You have 5 minutes thats it. Then its time to move forward. Remember God gave you eyes in the front of your head not the back so you could see where you are going not where you have been.

Turning Injuries & Losses into Success this Postseason

Maybe you suffered an injury this season that kept you inactive for a while, maybe you lost to several opponents that you know you are better than. None of this matters at this point. In fact, the only thing that matters and will directly effect your postseason success is the way that you interpret these events (injuries, losses, illness, etc.).

Lets take two who wrestlers who suffered similar losses to opponents they "should have" beat. One wrestler interprets this loss as a sign that they are not improving and that they are in a "funk". The other wrestler views this loss as the best thing that could happen to them. They learn a technical lesson from the match, they use it as motivation, it helps them focus, and so on. Logan Stieber is a good example of this. After he lost a match earlier this season, he said that the loss is the best thing that could have happened to him. Since then he has dominated every opponent he has faced.
