The lazy days of summer are behind us and it’s time to start moving ahead with your plans for the future. Fall I and Full Fall classes started Monday, Aug. 26, 2019. Fall II classes begin Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019. Here are some key dates to keep in mind:

ALL therapy at our private practice is provided 1-on-1 with continuity of care maintained. Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg; Dr. Tonya M. Matthews, CEO of the International African American Museum; Dr. J. Goosby Smith, Assistant Provost for Diversity and Director of the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Center at The Citadel; Lee J. Bennett Jr., Lt. Col. Retired, U.S. Army, Infantry; and Rev. Colin Kerr, Founding Pastor of Parkside Presbyterian Church, will hold a press conference in recognition of Decoration Day, which many believe was our country’s first Memorial Day, at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at the Decoration Day historical marker at the north end of Hampton Park near Mary Murray Drive and 10th Avenue.

Decoration Day was first observed in Charleston on May 1, 1865, when nearly 10,000 formerly enslaved people marched onto the grounds of the Washington Race Course, where a prison camp had been established, to honor the lives of hundreds of Union soldiers who had died there during the Civil War.

The event will be livestreamed on the city of Charleston page at www.facebook.com/citycharleston.

Applications for the Mortgage/Utility Assistance Program open Monday, April 19. This program is managed by Charleston County’s Community Development Department through HUD CDBG-CV CARES Act funding. There is approximately $175,000 available.

The program offers emergency financial assistance to help residents with mortgage and/or utility payments if their income has been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
