Our Upper Elementary students stepped onto the global stage today through Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) online program. All year they have been writing position papers representing their assigned countries of Belgium, Costa Rica, and Zimbabwe. They have researched the topics of Empowering Youth in Inclusive and Sustainable Food Systems and Empowerment of Rural women and the solutions to those issues.

They are not only strengthening research, writing, and public speaking skills—they are also practicing one of the most vital skills for peace: truly listening to another person’s perspective. This week they will work in committee sessions listening to their peers and create solutions for all. This capacity to listen with respect and empathy is at the heart of diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution.

As Maria Montessori reminded UNESCO, when we invite young people into the work of building a better world, we “infuse new life into society” (San Remo Lectures, 1949).

We are proud to support these emerging changemakers. Their work reminds us that there is real hope for the future in the hearts and hands of today’s children.

We are so grateful for the energy, creativity, and heart our staff poured into making this event truly special. From beautifully designed continent displays to engaging activities and performances, their hard work brought the entire experience to life.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing families as well—your generous contributions of artifacts, delicious food, and cultural traditions made the event rich, meaningful, and authentic for our children.

It was a joyful celebration of community, learning, and connection. We are so lucky to share these moments together!

Today, our elementary students had the incredible opportunity to take part in a Taiko drumming workshop with ! It was an engaging and unforgettable experience that gave our students a hands-on introduction to Japanese culture and the powerful art of Taiko.
