Our school’s PTO has consistently been our music program’s biggest supporter. Each year, PTO purchases our performance sheet music, tracks, and rights. Please consider joining the PTO (Just $10 if you have a student at our school) to continue providing stellar performance repertoire for EVERY student!

We are TWO MEMBERSHIPS away from hitting our ICE POP REWARD & 27 away from Pie the Principal!!

If you have been considering joining the PTO, this is your sign! Every membership helps keep the fun & support going all year long.

We can do this Bobcats community!

Last day for the Membership Race is TODAY!

We had a surprise guest on Neon Day! 💚

Ms. Spiller, one of our beloved retired kindergarten teachers, stopped by and donated her acoustic guitar to our music room! We’re so excited to give it a new life making music with our Bobcats.

Thank you, Ms. Spiller, for thinking of us! Once a Bobcat, Always a Bobcat! 🎶 🐾

Our 4th grade Bobcats are reading Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio, a memoir by Peg Kehret, in ELA. In the book, set in 1949, Peg rebuilds her strength and coordination by playing the accordion.

Our Bobcats got to tag team and play a REAL accordion that Mrs. Wald scored for FREE from a very generous local on Facebook Marketplace over the summer!

And while we’re on the subject… those unused instruments collecting dust in your attic are begging to call our music room home. 👀🎶 We’ll take them!

🎶💙 Happy National Arts in Education Week! 💙🎶

There’s no better way to celebrate than with the voices of some of our youngest musicians! Our first grade Bobcats are learning what it means to be part of the Drayton Hall family as they proudly sing our school Alma Mater. 🐾

Arts education gives our students opportunities to create, connect, build confidence, and feel a true sense of belonging—and sometimes, it sounds a lot like this. 💙🎵

“Meet Necie Wald, one of Tanger Outlets, Charleston's nominees for Education Hometown Hero.

As the music teacher at Drayton Hall Elementary, Necie does so much more than teach music — she creates moments that help students find their voices, build confidence, and discover a sense of belonging.

Through performances, honor choirs, musical productions, and community events, she gives students opportunities to share their talents throughout the Lowcountry, including Piccolo Spoleto, the Holiday Festival of Lights, Stingrays Hockey games, and West Ashley’s Elementary Choral Festival.

Behind every performance is countless hours of planning, rehearsing, advocating, and creating opportunities for students and families. Necie leads with creativity, compassion, and a belief that every child deserves the chance to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

By bringing music beyond the classroom walls, she is building confidence, strengthening community, and creating memories her students will carry with them for years to come.

Want to see Necie Wald featured as the Education Hero for our Hall of Hometown Heroes? Vote for her by visiting the Instagram post linked below to leave a like or a positive comment!”
