Finishing off teacher appreciation week with a last treat for our PSA teachers. Setting them up for summer with a bag of summertime goodies. We would like to thank all of our awesome PSA parents for helping us make our teachers feel special and recognized for all of the hard work they do with our children. Every gift, meal, treat and especially every note of appreciation were received with gratitude and love. We truly thank you!❤️❤️

On day 4 of teacher appreciation week, teachers are being treated to a lunch of BBQ pulled pork and all the fixings. ❤️❤️

Perspective | Why kids deserve a preschool that lets them play

Yes,yes and yes!!! Great article by Washington Post and we couldn’t agree more that this is true. My son plays and does hands-on activities all day, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t engaged in serious learning.

A beautiful friendship in the making? Too soon to tell, but these 2 precious baby girls are already practicing their social interaction and we’re in love with the sweetness of these photos.😍😍 Let us know if you agree. And thanks Ms. Lacie for being in the right place at the right time to catch the evidence for the rest of us.

The language they hear when you read to/with them is SO powerful!!

Just 20 minutes a day. Look at how this article breaks down the hours.

The Preschool Explorers have been reading and learning about Friends. One of the books they studied was “The Little Red Hen Makes A Pizza”. On Thursday, they took a field trip to West Ashley Hardware and to Piggly Wiggly to look for some of the items from the story. They had their own clipboards with check off lists of items to look for. We would like to thank both stores for being so gracious, accommodating and generous to our young friends. Our adventure was a great success!

The toddlers had great fun outside on Monday.....before all this rain.☔️

Just a few more from Friday’s field trip.😀

It’s rug cleaning day at PSA. It’s another tool in the constant battle against dirt and germs.😝😀Thanks Brian for helping us fight the See you again soon!

Our Fours Preschool Explorer’s class finished up their Family unit with the book, Corduroy. Today, they explored the story a little more by going to Citadel Mall and riding the escalator in Belk department store. They visited the play area in the mall first before visiting the store. They were surprised when Ms. Laurie J. And Mr. Jimmy came to join us. We rode up and down the escalator with great care, then decided to compare the experience to riding the elevator just for fun. Afterwards, we went to the food court to have Chick-fil-A which was declared the best ever! Who can argue? 😂 We’d like to give a big shout out to Belk’s for their appreciation and patience with our young friends as well as Chick-fil-A.

[10/10/18]   Due to the potential of high winds and flooding caused by Hurricane Michael when it arrives to us as a tropical storm, we have decided to follow CCSD and be closed tomorrow, Thursday Oct. 11th. We expect to reopen on Friday if circumstances allow.

We want to give a big shoutout to our resident creative guru, Ms. Randi! Ms. Randi is responsible for most of the classroom displays, including those shown in these pics from the Afterschooler‘s gym, the Infant room and the front hallway teacher info display. She’s always willing to help fellow teachers with things for their classrooms and we truly appreciate that and more about her. THANKS Ms. Randi!

Congratulations Ms. Keri on the birth of baby Myles on Saturday, September 22nd. Myles was 8lbs. 11oz. and he and mom are doing great! Welcome to the PSA family little man!😍

Fine motor skills are so important to writing skills later so we make sure to always have fun activities to give children plenty of practice to strengthen those muscles. In these pics, you’ll see scissor practice with playdough and paper, playdough manipulation, pipe cleaner threading with cereal as well as LEGO building.

These magnatiles were added to the manipulative center in the preschool Explorer’s class recently and they have become a HUGE favorite. Hint: if you have a child ages 3+, they would be something to think about adding to their Christmas list. There are many different brands and places to purchase.

Want to know what‘s going on that we need you to know? Check out the whiteboard as you walk in the door up front. We try to put important info there for you to see.

We are working on getting things back to normal around here. 🤪 We will be open tomorrow, Monday September 17th. Can’t wait to see everyone!

[09/11/18]   We will be closed the rest of the week to allow for staff members who will be evacuating. We wish for everyone to stay safe whether you are evacuating or staying put. Stay tuned over the weekend for further updates.

[09/11/18]   PSA is open today, Tuesday Sept. 11th.

Been having a fun time on the playground this week.

Today was spent on professional development...constantly striving to improve ourselves! The whole crew was there learning some amazing and eye-opening things about social and emotional development. We can’t wait for Monday so we can implement some of the tips and methods we learned into our new classrooms! Happy Saturday PSA fam!!

Pocket of Preschool

Yes it is! Love my little job so much! ❤️

Please please remember to ALWAYS lock your cars when dropping off/picking up your child. We’ve been plagued by car break-ins for the last half year or the same guy, each time. With another break-in occurring this afternoon, we just want to remind everyone to please not leave your bags/purses/valuables on your seats, make sure they are hidden out of sight and of course, *emphasized* make sure your vehicle is always locked.

HOWEVER, with that being said, we are happy to announce that they caught the guy this afternoon and arrested him!

I think they had a little bit of fun today...🤷🏻‍♀️

A little sunshine on a cloudy day...

And so it begins...who’s ready for another amazing summer?!? Our 29th summer to be exact! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
