With the University of Texas School of Law, Charleston School of Law was honored to co-host the 33rd Annual Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Competition on March 19-21. Our CSOL team made a strong showing in the semifinals and won Best Respondent’s Brief. Congratulations to Washington University for taking home the cup! Well done all, and a great weekend in Charleston. ⚓️🛳️

The Charleston School of Law Maritime Program and Moot Court Board are excited to host the 33rd Annual Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition in Charleston, South Carolina. Twenty-eight teams from law schools across all parts of the country are participating in the competition. We hope to provide them with a fantastic time in Charleston, in and out of the courtroom.

With this in mind, we invite you to be a judge for oral arguments taking place March 19-21, 2026. Preliminary rounds are scheduled to be held in downtown Charleston, at the Francis Marion Hotel and the Hampton Inn Historic. On Saturday, March 21, the semifinals and final round will be at the J. Waties Waring Judicial Center, United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
