The word Pentecost comes from the Greek word pentekostos, which means "fiftieth," referring to the 50 days after Easter.
Today we celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the 12 Apostles, the Blessed Mother, and other followers of Jesus. Pentecost is the birth of the Church, empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit. The Apostles, who were previously fearful and uncertain, were transformed into bold and charismatic leaders who spread the teachings of Jesus throughout the world.
Holy Spirit, come into our Church and our hearts, just as you did on the first Pentecost, and enliven us to live out the Gospel without fear.

"When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is
finished.” And bowing his head, he handed
over the spirit." // John 19:30
Today, reflect on His sacrificial death - all for
love of you.
04/06/2023
On Holy Thursday, we celebrate the
institution of the Eucharist as the true body
and blood of Jesus Christ and the institution
of the priesthood.
During the Last Supper, Christ offered
Himself as the sacrificial Lamb and showed
each ordained priest how to offer the same
sacrifice.
May today be a reminder of Jesus' abiding
presence with us through his real presence
in the Eucharist.
