π¨β¨ Exploring the World of Henri Matisse! βοΈποΈ
This month in art class, our students are diving into the bold and colorful world of Henri Matisse (1869-1954)βa Fauvist painter and collage artist known as the "King of Color." π¨π Fauve, meaning "wild beast" in French, reflects the movementβs fearless use of color to express emotion and energy. Matisse believed that color shapes how we see and experience life!

β¨ Upper School Chapel: "The Light of the World" β¨
Today, Mr. Whitlock led us in a powerful chapel message on John 8:12, where Jesus said, βI am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.β π
Afterward, our small groups dove deeper, reflecting on questions like:
π‘ What did Christ mean when He said He was the light of the world?
π‘ Am I walking in the darkness of this world, or do I have the light of Christ in my heart?
It was an incredible time of learning, reflection, and encouragement! ππ

Today in Lower School Chapel we welcomed Courtney Suggs, Children's Pastor from Seacoast John's Island. She discussed Fruit of the Spirit and explained to students how Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches. The fruit of the spirit grows in us once we have a relationship with God and have the Holy Spirit living within us. As we become more connected to God and grow closer to Him (gave examples of prayer, reading the Bible, worship, etc), then we become more like God and show the fruits of the spirit. She focused on four fruits: love, patience, goodness, and self-control.
Challenge for the week: Pick one fruit of the spirit and ask God to help you grow that one fruit in your life. Ask God to show you ways that you can show that fruit (love, patience, goodness, or self-control) to others this week.
