James Island Christian School

Today was a great day as we welcomed all of our faculty and staff back to campus for the start of a new school year! 💙🦁

We kicked off the morning with a delicious breakfast lovingly prepared by JICS parent MariElena Raya, followed by a time of devotions, fellowship, and looking ahead to all God has in store this year.

A special thank you also to JICS parent Meagan Hostetler for creating such a beautiful and welcoming space for our team. Your thoughtfulness made the morning even more special!

The day was filled with orientation, training, and getting familiar with the behind-the-scenes of life at James Island Christian School as we prepare for an exciting new school year. We also enjoyed taking a break to share lunch together, building relationships and fellowshipping as a team.

We’re grateful for the incredible people God has brought to JICS and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll have on our students and school community this year. Please join us in praying for them as they begin this new journey! 💛

☀️ Summer Adventures Continue! 🌍

Lincoln has been making the most of his summer with unforgettable adventures across Europe! 🇮🇪🇬🇷

While visiting Ireland, he experienced the ancient art of falconry, getting up close with some incredible birds of prey. Then, on his 7th birthday, he celebrated in an unforgettable way by parasailing over the beautiful waters of Greece! 🎉🪂

What an amazing summer filled with adventure, new experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime. We love seeing how our JICS students are spending their summer break!

☀️ Summer Series Continues! ☀️

Isaac has had an unforgettable summer filled with music, travel, service, and adventure!

🎻 He traveled to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where he shared his musical talents by playing the violin in front of the Gettysburg Museum, throughout downtown Gettysburg, and at several locations across the historic battlefield.

🎉 Isaac and his sister, Kinsey, also had the exciting opportunity to help spin the prize wheel for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway in Savannah, Georgia, taking part in a special event that supports the life-changing work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

🌾 He also traveled to Missouri to visit his family's farm, spending time with loved ones and enjoying a special connection to his family's heritage.

💙 To round out his summer, Isaac spent a week at Camp Happy Days at Lake Marion, making memories and enjoying an incredible camp experience.

🌟 Welcome, Caroline Thomas! 💙🦁

We are delighted to welcome Caroline Thomas to James Island Christian School as our new Early Education Director & Pre-K4 Teacher!

A James Island native, Caroline has dreamed of becoming a teacher since she was a little girl. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education and is excited to begin her 16th year in the classroom! Along the way, she has received training in Orton-Gillingham and participated in teacher training at the renowned Ron Clark Academy.

After spending four wonderful years at home with her two children, Caroline returned to the classroom last year at her church's preschool and is thrilled to continue doing what she loves as part of the JICS family.

Caroline is passionate about helping every child discover their God-given potential while creating a classroom where students feel safe, loved, encouraged, and excited to learn. She also loves serving at her church through Sunday School, Children's Church, Children's Choir, and adult Bible studies.

One of Caroline's favorite Bible verses is Psalm 46:5:
"God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day." This promise serves as a daily reminder of God's faithfulness and strength.

When she's not at school, Caroline enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, making memories together at the beach or by the pool.

☀️ Our Summer Series Continues!

This summer, Sam Weeks and his dad, Charles, had the opportunity to serve on a mission trip to Zimbabwe with a team from James Island Christian Church.

They were joined by fellow JICS students Isaac Talbott, Silas Talbott, and Micah Davison, who also spent part of their summer serving others and sharing the love of Christ.

We are so thankful to see our students and families living out their faith beyond the classroom. Thank you for representing JICS so well and for answering the call to serve!

🎭🏆 Congratulations to our JICS Drama Department!

We are excited to celebrate our students and directors for earning 2nd Place in the Scenographics Photo Contest for the incredible set design of Cheaper by the Dozen! This recognition is a testament to the creativity, craftsmanship, and countless hours of hard work that brought our production to life.

We're so proud of everyone who contributed to making this set such a success. Way to represent JICS with excellence!

🍎 Welcome, Ashton Todd! 💙🦁

We are thrilled to welcome Ashton Todd to James Island Christian School as our new 1st Grade Teacher!

Ashton is excited to join the JICS family and begin investing in the lives of our students through Christ-centered education. She has a heart for building meaningful relationships with children and creating a classroom where students feel encouraged, challenged, and loved as they grow academically and spiritually.

This year, Ashton is especially looking forward to meeting her students and getting to know the JICS community. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys reading, writing, and riding horses. She and her husband will celebrate five years of marriage this October, and they share their home with their cat, Captain. 🐈

One of Ashton's favorite Bible verses is Psalm 51:10:
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." This verse has been especially meaningful in her walk with Christ, reminding her of God's transforming grace and her desire to grow closer to Him each day.
