in Aging Studies is an online, interdisciplinary graduate degree program at Eastern Illinois University with two options - M.S. Courses are offered in the departments of: Human Services, Communication Studies, Kinesiology, Sport & Recreation, Psychology, Public Health, Secondary Education and Foundations, Biological Sciences, and Political Science. The Aging Studies program provides students with applied, integrative, research- and theory-based learning experiences. Throughout the program, students develop and strengthen well-rounded, transferable skills for launching or continuing careers in the aging field and working with and on behalf of older adults.

🏫 Nearly 400 Charleston Middle School students were without a "home" until last night. After the June 17th tornado caused over $3 million dollars in damages, the building was deemed unusable. Now with the help of Eastern Illinois University, parents, students, and staff will want to know what the plan is before school starts!

Today we're shining a spotlight on a leader who is changing the way Illinois thinks about healthy aging! Dr. Megan Huisingh-Scheetz, MD, MPH, AGSF, of The University of Chicago is Illinois's "Ensuring Health for All Ages" Working Group Chair!

Dr. Huisingh-Scheetz is a geriatrician who has spent her career finding innovative ways to help older adults stay healthy, active, and independent -- including using technology like wearable devices and smart voice platforms to support older adults right in their own homes. Her work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: every person deserves the chance to age well, no matter where they live or what their background is.

We're so grateful to have her expertise and passion guiding this workgroup!
