According to studentaid.gov, the partial government shutdown is having a limited impact on the FAFSA process, the delivery of federal student aid, and student loan repayment functions.
Noted on the website: Some of our systems and processes depend on information from—and actions taken by—other federal agencies, several of which are currently closed. We have been evaluating what impact these closures may have on students and borrowers, and we are temporarily adapting our processes as needed.
FYI: The Department of Education is not affected by the shutdown. You can still complete your FAFSA form and there is no impact on your school disbursing your funds. Remember to check your deadlines! http://bit.ly/2Q9Su3N
