✨ It’s a double alumni feature today! Yes, that’s right, the recently crowned Miss Global United States 2022 is a two time graduate of College of Charleston Department of Communication with both her bachelor’s AND master’s degree in Communication from College of Charleston! 🌟

{repost from College of Charleston Alumni} Sara Burd ’17 (MA ’19) competed as Miss Minnesota Global USA and was crowned Miss Global USA 2022 in July in Orlando, FL. Ms. Burd is also a Professional Model for Envy Models & Talent and a GIA-certified Jewelry Sales Associate/Jeweler. She attended Concordia College from 2012-2014 to earn a minor in Norwegian language. While at the College for her undergraduate career, Ms. Burd majored in communication and minored in French and Francophone studies. She joined Kappa Alpha Theta and competed for the Miss College of Charleston title, where she placed third in her first year, and second the following year. In 2019, Ms. Burd earned her MA in communications from CofC. She won her first pageant title at 23 as Miss South Carolina Global. Ms. Burd says, “As the new Miss Global USA, I hope to use my platform to promote peace through understanding, something that was always at the forefront of my studies at the College of Charleston.” She currently resides in Clearwater, FL.
