In the third quarter of 2023 alone, the Lowcountry Graduate Center awarded $150,000 worth of Opportunity Fund Grants to six programs, covering such topics as AI Learning, a geriatric PT residency, and an executive MBA. At the Citadel, the graduate school of education decided to take on the challenge of AI proactively, with the help of a $25,000 Opportunity Grant from the Lowcountry Graduate Center. As one of the first healthcare organizations in the nation to fully embrace telehealth, the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) has been named one of only two centers of excellence for implementation of this important diagnostic and treatment tool. We partner with The College of Charleston, The Citadel, Medical University of South Carolina, Anderson University, Universtiy of South Carolina, and South Carolina State University in hopes to ensure that local students have access to the resources necessary for career advancement. If a required graduate program is not available through our current partners, the LGC can develop further partnerships with universities in South Carolina and beyond. We recognize that an educated populace is a key to economic growth and well-being, and the LGC works with trusted advisors; such as business leaders, major employers, and academic institutions throughout South Carolina to identify which graduate certificates and degrees will help meet the workforce needs in the Lowcountry region.
