It’s been a busy and exciting week at the EDC!

On Saturday, we had a blast at the Be My Neighbor event hosted by WV Public Broadcasting. We were excited to set up alongside other wonderful community organizations, including FamilyCare Health Centers, Exceptional Possibilities, Connect, and a host of others.
One of our favorite moments was helping children and families create their first resumes! It was great to see young people thinking about their future and learning that it’s never too early to start building their skills and experiences.

We also had the opportunity to participate in Data and Donuts at Edgewood Elementary School. We sat with students to look at their beginning-of-year data, talk about their strengths and areas for growth, and help them set a meaningful goal for the school year.
From supporting young entrepreneurs and future professionals to connecting with families and students, we love being out in the community and helping create opportunities for growth.

That’s what the EDC is all about, connecting, supporting, and building our community together!

OUT WITH THE OLD… WHAT’S NEXT?

For a long time, the old garage neighboring the WVSU Economic Development Center has been a neglected property in our community. Now, it has officially been demolished, creating a blank canvas and a new opportunity for what could come next.

What would you like to see in this space?
